Alaska Bound Alaskan
Riding to Anchorage from Bellingham, WA May 24th or 25th. Riding 04 GS Adventure that Anchorage BMW dealer set me up with in Tucson, AZ. Rode from AZ to WA in March, time to get it home. This is about my 20th two wheel ride on this route, and this time i'm taking the Alcan route via Dawson Creek. Any one out and about in those parts, drop a line, maybe have a cup of coffee or a beer somewheres. It's my favorite ride, i always find a new detour along the way. Funny how that happens.

A good friend moved to Anchorage a few months ago. He took his CBR954RR with him. He sent me a pic a few days ago of his brand new KLR650. I would tell you to keep a lookout for him but he said they sold 40 red ones in the last month. Just wave to all of them. I told him about this site but I don't know if he's started lurking yet. Have a good ride. I drove that route from here back in '96. Still planning on 2 wheeling it one day. Unforgettable!

Yo Trout ...would your friend happen to be an ICR member (Intrepid Cafe Racers)? If so I've ridden w/ him a few times.

Yes, that would be one Drewcephus, a fellow ICR. I haven't seen him since Christmas. He lived in the land of changing seasons all his life so I'm sure he's making some HUGE adjustments up there. I plan on riding up and visiting sometime while he's there. I badgered him into getting a dual sport. I figure if he stays up there a few years he'll have a big GS. I rode an old 125 enduro when I was up there and had a ball. Keep an eye out for him. He's a good dude. I used to have fun dicing with him at Track Days back when he had a CBR600. There's some pics of us at IntrepidCafeRacers.com.

Most people around here don't even remember my real name. He just calls me Trout. I heard about ya'll's high speed run to Girdwood. You're right about him being smooth. The few times I passed him on the track it would take a few laps because he looked like he was just cruising. Deceptively fast. We really miss him 'cuz he was the great organizer of our club. Meetings, annual rides, meeting places, etc......He kept it all together. Now we're a bit more loose knit than we were with him around. Ya'll are lucky to have him up there. Buy him a Bud Light and let him bend your ear. He can tell some good stories about some of the crazy sh*t we've gotten into on club rides and at the races.

Oh yeah, don't let him near a campfire!
He'll have the nearest fire department responding. He used to have an annual christmas tree burning party in his backyard. The neighbors didn't laugh nearly as much as we did. I'm sure they miss him! Ask him if he has his own fire tools. I bet he took them with him.....Pyro....Troutrider

Wow! Thanks for jogging my memory. I haven't been to the site in a while. That pic. was taken when we had five guys racing and most of us were doing track days. We had a local bar that loved us and took great care of us during our weekly meetings. I miss my VFR! Tell Drew to shake the cobwebs out of that 954RR before he sells it.

Hmmm... word I heard at a bbq today was the Drew already bought a KLR650.
Has this thread been properly hijacked and cratered? I just need to know because I hate to do a half assed job. Sorry Anchor.

Yo Trout. I just got back from dinner w/ a bunch of other local riders and guess who showed? I believe you'll be seeing Drewcephus marking the territory in here fairly soon.
Sending him a link...

Very cool! I told him to look at this site a while back. Funny that if you ride you'll find like-minded souls wherever you end up. Tell him I'm still waiting for some action pics with the Killer 650.
