I'm in for some riding behind Martin's on Saturday afternoon (After the Christmas parade!) I will be on the DRZ. I'm going to let das fräulein take it easy until I get her a proper skidplate that will withstand log crossings and streams with big rocks!

I plan to hit the trails behind Martins this Saturday, thanks for posting about it!. I am free after 12Noon on Saturday.
Normal meetup time is usually 11:30. Restaurants change weekly. Alamo seems to be the choice this week. Not familiar with it myself. Either Google for it or ask if anyone knows it.

I'm drooling!

IMHO...this is one of the most beautiful bikes made in the last 35-40 years and what my childhood remembers as "a real motorcycle"! I've gone to this site daily (more than once per day) for several days to look at this gorgeous bike! I can't wait to see it in person at the show, not that I am going to actually buy one since I didn't win the lotto last night! It looks like someone spent thousands in a '73 CB750 restoration. I love the red too, 4 into 4 pipes would have been total lust and done me in!

Your right. Eerily similar to the Honda CB family of the early 80's down to the headlight, fenders and engine. A four into four exhaust would complete the package. I just happen to know where you can get a really nice CB900 if your interested. .

Todd ..... I can't wait to try a set of those on mine. Let me know how you like them. If you go over to Forest Hill this week I would recommend you leave the bags at home. Lots of tight paths through the woods. I had to turn my mirrors inside to get through on the DRZ.

I will let you know & the only thing I'm brining to the training grounds is a change of pants Friday. But Saturday I might consider more if there are people there to help pull the pig out of the mud...

The idea is Home -> Knoxville (by way of Foamhenge) -> Nashville (by way of The Dragon) -> Stay the night -> Beckley WV -> Home. All back roads. No highways and no dirt. Just scenic riding. Probably July 17-21.

So ... two questions ... (1) any "must do" items while in Nashville? And (2) anything weirdness/goodness along my path that I should set sail for?

what!!!!! no Cherohala Skywayon the map? wtf? you MUST ride that road when you are down near the dragon

check out RT 18 thru Sparta, NC to 88 to 194 thru Boone and Banner Elk over to 143 up and over Roan Mtn, and west on 19W to 352 south to 212 thru Hot Springs, NC to 209 south

unless you must stop in Knoxville and ride I-81
