So Todd, are you going to be putting some real hand guards on both of the GS? Might be worth the investment to keep from having to ride home without levers.

I've ridden in the area between Brook Rd and the freeway just south of Hilliard rd if that's where your talking about. There is some more exploring to be done there.

They're all rotated 90 degrees off.

Jeremy-
I had levers...my right handle bar was bent so bad I could not depress the front brake. The clutch reservoir was broke off on the other side. But yes I ordered BarkBuster guards today for both, I also ordered reservoir guards for the Big GS.

I read a few pages of a thread on that. My take is, if it happens to me, I hope I'm not in the middle of nowhere!
Seriously though, after reading through a bit, I'm thinking when I hit about 30,000 mi, maybe I'll put in a new stator or have it rebuilt, especially if I'm headed on a long trip. Sometimes reading through those type of threads gets me stressed a bit, but I just go for a ride, and forget about what may never happen.

Yeah, that seems to be the failure mode. Check/replace it at 30,000 miles and keep riding.

Weird, on the iPad they are oriented correctly, but on the pc (win xp) they are sideways. Same for that Klim shirt pic the other day.

I wonder if those trails are mountain-bike worthy?
I definitely wouldn't take a mountain bike back there. Unless you want to ride through a constant water crossing.
