Can I get some course arrows? I just searched Halfplate's threads and read his 12 page GS Trophy thread but still no competition video...

Dang sure has some cool pictures hidden in there.

I have a Go pro Hero2 HD which is definitly better than the earlier one. Lacks a screen for playback and is sometimes a challenge to mount. Each Gen of these has gotten better.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM1U...e_gdata_player

Here is some video from last June. My video isn't usually as exciting since I'm slow and ride like an old lady. I also can't figure out how to get the embed code from YouTube app on my tablet.

As for uploading HD, a bit depends on what settings you choose at upload, and it depends on any settings you choose while editing. I think this one should be available at 1080. Also depending on your connection YouTube and others will adjust the quality during playback.

Here's a vid of an Urban Off road Ride in St Louis area. Andrew (BillsburgGS) relocated to this area last year. He's the rider in front of the camera guy. He suggests that we should be able to come up with our own Richmond Urban Ride. Might be coolish.

I've got the same one. Shoots 1080p, waterproof to 3m with no housing required, lots of different mounts, and I pair $110 for it. Target and Amazon always have it cheap.

GoPro

I'm using the GoPro Hero3 Black edition. GoPro has done a really good job improving the quality of each model. It's shoots 1080, can be mounted anywhere and is waterproof down to 200+ feet. I shoot it at 720 because the 1080 files are so large and hard to download. Maybe I should try 1080 this weekend and see what the difference is. I'm very happy with the quality and versatility of the camera. The negatives .... Until you get to know how the menus work it can be very user UNfriendly.

In regard to this video contest .... I'm giving Andrew my vote. Not only is the video great, the riding skills are some of the best I have seen.

Chuck, I've had great success with 1080 at the medium field of view. The 1080 does look much nicer. The downside is that it takes more computer power to edit. Also whatever you use to edit, export the result at 1080 and then upload that manually to YouTube. If you select the YouTube option in some programs like imovie it will upload it as a much lower res video.

There is some urban riding in Richmond. When I got my DR in 08' I did some exploring. Not knowing what the stakes were and not wanting to be arrested, I stopped sneaking around. There is still one "getaway" route I take from time to time that connects two roads via RR tracks. I finally got my 99' DR350 fixed up and running a couple of days ago and got it inspected today. Now the temptation is back.

And that was such a convenient feature too.. Can't do anything the easy way anymore.

could just be the camera..it didn't look very steep either, but we know that hasn't changed.
I don't think they've graded it. It was the first time I've ridden that road, but there were definitely some rough spots. And lots of whoops all the way up. I'm also using a go pro which has a fish eye lens which makes hills not seem nearly as steep as they are.

Jeremy, I think I will shoot 1080 this weekend and see what happens. Should be very interesting.

One of the main reasons I bought a GoPro was for its underwater ability. If anyone does any scuba diving this is your camera. If you add a red filter below 10' the images come alive. Here is one of the videos I took in January. The video was taken with the original, first edition GoPro. The wife still yells at me for not getting the Hero3 before our trip. Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

After watching that I really want to ride Shoe Creek. I was waiting to see an actual creek somewhere in the video though.
