For the 6k price difference, you can buy the tiger and a WRR.

Isn't it more like a $3500 difference between the F800 ADV and the Tiger 800XC ?

Maybe new but not for his used one versus a new '14 800 GSA at $16,500 OTD.

My plans to go to WV today fizzled out. Taking Gabriel to track this morning before the rain arrives.

It was still a $5k difference comparing both of them sold new. I got mine for $11.5k OTD because the next model year was on the way..

Those WRR's are starting to look appealing to me. They look sooo light. I have been trail riding the DR650 lately and picking it up quite a bit. Last weekend I followed a quad path through tall overgrowth into a a soggy area and had to get it turned around. Dragging the rear around a 180* over the overgrowth was tough. Exhausted, I fell backwards bringing the bike on top of me. Both legs completely pinned under the bike up to my waist and luckily not on the exhaust size. Fortunately, I was not alone and the Banned Bastard was right there to free me. A WRR I would have just flicked off of me.

We may have extra room, But I will have the wife and daughter with me. Being my first trip I'm looking for fellow ADV'ers to ride with. We should be trailering up Friday.

Nice! Thanks for putting the video together. I know how much of a time sink video editing can be.

OK just let me know. I've just got a small tent to pop up and my bike. I just don't want to miss out on a site and not be able to share either.

Good 'ol Banned Bastard.. I've been meaning to stop by his work, see his bike sitting out front from time to time.

Good point, WRR only weighs 300#..you could totally have flicked that off.

RockintheRVA has a nice '12 for sale local too, lets go get it!

I would have to get rid of a bike or two first or I would get banned from my house. And I would flick that bike off of me like a ladybug on my shoulder... Ting! Kind of reminds me of "Ahh! Tis just a flesh wound."

I don't know how much lighter a WR is than the DR650. Never rode a DR to compare. The WR kind of sits between the 90% dirt oriented dual sports and the DR. The bonus is the engine is smooth enough and geared wide enough that you can stand to ride it to where you are going versus trailering. It is easy to find a gear ratio that works for trails and highway. The other bonus is with FI you don't have to fiddle with needles and carbs when playing in the mountains. Some people like that, some don't.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I spent the morning doing exactly what I wanted to do on my birthday; riding motorcycles with my best buddy of course! We literally had the ENTIRE place to ourselves from 9:30 until 1:00.
I left the DRZ at Bob's Cycle Barn to have new fork springs and a rear shock spring installed that will keep me from bottoming out. I think Suzuki expected a 140 pound kid on this bike, not me trying to keep up with a KTM 50. I also have a Corbin saddle on the way to keep my bottom happy on the paved sections!
