I have it at a buddy's house. He has a lift.

I appreciate the offer. My left shoulder doesn't work much anymore, so there's not a lot I can do with stuff like this anymore. If I get in a bind, I'll give you a shout.

True. Those kits are pretty cheap and easy, but also some insurance policies cover the chip repair for FREE.

My policy with allstate covers windshield repairs and replacement for free. I would call them up and ask, some policies have a deductible for visits.

Oh. my first double quote. . One vehicle is covered by the comprehensive. The old tank is not. I have just had bad experiences with leaks after a few years.

My truck is not under a full coverage policy, but I still have the free windshields.

Paging Half Plate to the nearest Honda dealership!

Andrew, your dream bike has arrived! It's been 42 years since Honda has offered a trials bike on this side of the pond! Weight...162 pounds! A THIRD of the weight of a GSA!

Kinda split between the Karoos and the K60s... any quick notes of first hand experience? Mostly ride street, but really want to start doing some more off road stuff (dirt, gravel, fire roads).
Then I gotta find a decent place that doesn't charge $120 to mount them!
Im not sure why that is the norm now!!! geez, stuff ain't cheap... guess I need to learn to do it myself at these prices.

The Karoo didn't last much past 1500 miles on my 990...the K60 is a bear to mount/dis-mount but will last upwards of 5K....my favorite combo is a TKC 80 front, K60 or MEFO rear...currently running the later....I would say the K60 when fresh/new is a good off road tire but when worn to the center bar transforms into a 50/50 tire...the MEFO seems to like full PSI and can shred/rip knobs in tough conditions or highway blasts but lasts as well as the K60 or better...my 2 cents worth

Eppa (CycleDoc59 on here) changes tires for a lot less than that and does a great job. He might be quite a distance from you but it would be a scenic ride out to him and IMO its worth it.

I have a K60 front and Shinko 705 rear works fine for fire roads.I assume you are talking about on the S10. I heard everyone e say the K60 is hard to mount but it went on easy for me. I lubed the tire bead good and it makes a bit of difference. Every K60 rear I see is super squared off.

While I don't run my Wee on anything rougher than forest/fire service roads, this combo seems pretty good. I use the little bike for rougher stuff. The big bike just isn't as much fun when things get but so bumpy. Seems too much like work. Unmles you are into changing tires often don't go to aggressive on the rear.

Karoos

2007 R1200GS

On a road trip out west, (90/10 road/dirt) I got just over 5K miles on a rear Karoo. To my surprise the tire handled very well on and off road, wet or dry. I had a k60 on the front. The front lasted well over 10k.

They don't make it in a 150/70-17 or at least haven't sent any to the US yet.

Any thoughts of hitting the trials training center this spring? I think the idea was batted around late last summer.
