Looks like a great weekend to ride

Spent all day yesterday working on a GasGas and a Sherco for the weekend. Guys, remember bad things happen when you ride in water, never change your oil, and then don't do post-operative maintenance! Bikes had set a year covered in mud, and as a result both clutches were frozen. When I got the Sherco running I took it outside, squeezed the clutch, dropped it into first gear, and it almost ghost rode over the hood of my SUV. Holy crap batman! I tell you what, those trials bikes can jump!

Joe and I depart this afternoon for the Trials Course in NC. Looks like a sweet weekend to camp and ride. I am so pumped right now.

And yes, I am hauling a bike for once. With a top speed of about 35 mph, it would be a long ride down there........

See y'all next week.

Hmmm. I'm liking the looks of this. Hope it doesn't hurt me.

After this weekend I'll have to decide if I want to trade the CRF450X for one of these. Both want to loft the front wheel instantly, but the seat height on the trials bike is only about 18". Ha! I can put both feet down!

Q1: There is seat?

Q2: Did you manage to borrow these?

Nope. That's how they come. You're supposed to stand all the time.

Yes. A friend in P-burg has two and I'm trading him maint/service work for borrowing the bikes and teaching me some lessons.

The GasGas is a 290cc single cylinder two stroke, with no compression release. Kicking it over hurts.

I know there is no seat. Questioned since you referenced seat height. Have fun. Want to hear about it when you get back.

I wish I could, but I cannot. I do what to get out West with you one day. Have fun and be safe. I am sure you will pick up some good company.

I MAY, but likely not, be able to join in on a Sunday ride. A lot of home maintenance to get done. And the yard stuff too.

Hammocks

I remember reading a couple of you were hammock campers. At the time I was intrigued but had little interest. Now my Son has started Boy Scouts and has shown interest in going the Hammock route. I am looking for advice and any suggestions where I could find some used ones for sale. I don't want to invest a couple of hundred bucks until I see how committed he is.

Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance.
