I remove the caliper and put an old brake pad of the same type (as long as it's not boogered up) between the pads.... If I am worried about the pads, I'll replace them with an old used set and use a third used one for the blocker.

Hold it up or set it on something so that the bleeder is up and proceed.

I need to do this on my K/GS conversion because the calipers are reversed from their normal installed position due to being on the leading edge of the GS forks.

I am near Brandermill (360 & Hull St) and I can probably ride it a short distance to get help if needed or I will definately buy beer & other monetary gains for someone to come here.

Any suggestions of other help much appreciated!

I just bought my first bike, dr650. Are there any people in Richmond or near by that would like to ride? I'm trying to find some other people. Thanks.

+1. Clearly he did his research.Like biker128pedal said a couple of weeks ago, everyone should have a DR.

Keep an eye on this thread and you will see people organize rides, etc.

Well you are welcome to ease out to Scottsville with me for lunch with another guy Sunday. We are meeting at noon there. Then we can ride where ever you have a mind to go.

I somehow missed the planning for the Saturday RTE. Is there a planned restaurant? Or is this all pretty impromptu. I was already planning to go riding this Saturday on the DL650. I just hadn't planned where when or if with anyone else.

Scottsville at noon means I can sleep late, or possibly get up at a decent time and wander a bit before getting there.

Of course, I was already possibly thinking of having lunch at that place on 151. Decided I prefer them on Saturdays because you are not stuck with the buffet and can eat whenever you get there.

Hey Madstrom, you listening to the thread at all?

I am riding to Scottsville for a noon lunch on 6/8. I plan on riding on the south side of the James all the way to 20 and crossing the bridge to Scottsville. If we take the back roads that ride from Robious at Bellgrade Shopping Center is about 1:30 to 1:45. Leaving Bellgrade shopping center at 10:30 would put me at 522 and 711 (Robious) 10:50.

You could meet me at Bellgrade at 10:20 at the gas station in front of Ruth's Chris Steak House, kickstands up at 10:30. You could meet at 711/522 at the gas station on the corner 10:50, kickstands up at 11:00.
You could meet for lunch in Scottsville at noon. Just find the adventure bikes on mainstreet.

After lunch and passing off a tire to Littlelionmaster, I'll ride where ever you or the group wants to ride.
