Macon, did you make it out to the eastern shore last weekend?
I did not go to the Shore. I wanted to drag the VA Tag way the heck out there someplace and my wife was crashing on her sister's family vacation in Cape Charles. The weather that way was no bueno while the weather West was much better. Saturday i worked around the house some, washed the bike and lubed/adjusted the chain and then a bit after three I went out for a ride to try and get rid of the VA Tag. I hit Ricky Ford, Genito, ended up on 360 and just kept pushing West. Got tangled up for a bit trying to turn the High Bridge Trail into a Tag. Wound up on gravel roads South of anywhere I have ever ridden just outside Lynchburg. First one was Rocky Mountain Rd (starts off paved- I got lucky) then Walker Rd and a couple more. Got back on 501 and then hit the Parkway South. Found one of the roads that coaxed me into selling the FJR for an adventure bike, Goff Mountain Rd. Spotted Hunting Creek Rd on the GPS and wanted to check it out. It was a very long dead end, as advertised. Worked my way back to the Parkway by going further South and then West. Had the Parkway all to my self in the fog with an average speed of maybe 30 and max of 48. Sat up there in a clear over look and watched the fog ebb and flow in the valley below for a bit. Ended up eating dinner on the propane cage at a Sheetz in Lynchburg about 11:30. That place was busy. I figure they had no tables to eat upon because if they did they would have an even larger loitering problem. I slept in Sunday and then hopped on the bike at noon. Poked around in Buckingham, Howardsville and Schuyler looking for gravel, neat places and a Tag location. Really both Saturday and Sunday were spent trying to come up with a disappointing, non-Eastern Shore VA Tag location. Was the weather better on the coast up North a bit and did you ride around some?

I don't leave for Delaware until tomorrow after work and come back the middle of next week. I rode around some but spent most of the weekend working around the house. Sounds like you had way more fun than I did.

Pulled the rear suspension apart on one of the WRs to find out that it needs new swing arm and shock linkage bearings (on order) and sorting out the jetting on a new (used) dirt bike that my son got. Found the nozzle for the accelerator pump was clogged up.

I don't know if you have ever ridden a KTM 250sxf but you better have your weight over the front tire before whacking the throttle or the front wheel is coming up! It's like a 125 2-stroke that's always in the power band.

First time in nearly 14 years that I did not have to get home or have a plan. I had to put my old dog, Raven, down a few months ago and my wife and son were out of town. I don;t think it hit me until it was getting dark Saturday night. When I realized I did not have to make my way home I was wishing I had packed my camping gear.

I don't think we are doing Shoe Creek. Big Levels is what we want. If we get up there early enough we can set up camp then ride. After the ride I'm sure we will be hungry and thirsty.

Anyone can join us at the camp site if you don't want to do Big Levels. There will be plenty of riding besides Big Levels.

Dan ..... its been awhile. Im looking forward to riding together again.

After reading the write-up of his weekend, I say Dirtmonkey is president of the cool club!
