Actually, that charge was off the USPS website, the box is right here next to my desk, I'm leaving in 5 min for the post office across the street! Thanks, I'll ask...

UPDATE: Thank you! You are the man! She started to punch in numbers, I saw $58 pop up on the screen and then I unloaded "PARCEL POST PLEASE!" on her, the bill dropped to $22 with delivery on Saturday! Sweet, thanks! I sent the lady in FL $20 back via PayPal.

From Matt Danielson, a Rider and Lawyer:

The Virginia Coalition of Motorcyclists and Tom McGrath's Motorcycle Law group would like to invite all interested motorcyclists to attend this year's legislative roundtable to he held on August 13, 2011 at the Marriott Hotel in Richmond, located at 500 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219. We will start at 11:00 a.m. and continue until finished.

The purpose of the legislative roundtable is to determine what our legislative package will look like in the upcoming year. This is where we as motorcyclists determine which issues need to be raised with our state legislators. It is a very informal and informative gathering. We brainstorm as a group concerning those issue related to motorcycling that we feel need to be addressed on a state level. We then come to a consensus as to the priority of those issues and try to pick two or three that we will address in the upcoming year. We try to boil it down to two or three issues because that is a manageable number of bills to follow in a given year. It takes a tremendous amount of work to shepherd one bill through the General Assembly let alone two or three. Additionally we know that we will face bills that we oppose and we will have to work equally as hard on those bills in order to defeat them. The legislative roundtable helps us to identify those particular areas on which we need to focus time and energy. It is a safe bet that motorcycle only checkpoints will be discussed at the roundtable.

This is your opportunity to be heard on the issues that are important to you and to help shape our upcoming legislative agenda. If you or a member of your club or organization can make it to the roundtable we would welcome your presence. No RSVP is necessary but if you know that you will attend please respond so that I can try to keep track in case we need larger accommodations.

Americade Trip

Hey Guys......
I just got back from Americade and 2200+ miles of riding. What a great trip. The ride up last week was a little hot but the ride up Mt Washington NH to 6000+ feet helped cool things down. No guard rails, sheer drop offs and at least one mile of dirt and gravel.

Lake George NY was beautiful and the 50,000 other bikes made it very interesting. I will definitely plan another ride up that way soon.

I missed the GS going up Mt Washington but the Goldwing was a dream to ride long distance. The car tire was smooth, quiet and handled very nice in the rain and twistys.

Having a hard time finding cooking stove fuel cartridges isobutane/propane/butane for my Primus ETA. Tried Walmart, Target, and Dick's tonight and nothing but the large Coleman type. Online it looks as though I would have to pay a Hazmat fee of $25 on top of shipping (for a 8 or12 pack). Does anyone have a local source? thanks, j

I'm surprised you aren't seeing them at Dicks. They sell the MSR pocket rocket, so should sell the canisters as well.

I know REI and Blue Ridge Mountain Sports have them.

I always buy my isobutane/propane Coleman canisters at Walmart. My stove and single mantle lantern are Primus. Forgive me but are you sure you looked in the right spot? In fact I just picked up a couple for my trip.

Ya, I was in the right aisle at Walmart. Shelves were bare. I'll check Bass Pro

Has anyone ever camped at the primitive Shady Mountain Campground near Buena Vista off of 60? I see it on the map but no amount of googling finds any more about it etc. j

Ditto that. We had a small COG get-together there one year awhile back.
