My daily-carry. I lurves this knife. Never failed me. The girl hates it though - the action is a little powerful...every time she tries to open it, it jumps out of her hand!

If I'm going into the woods, I carry a Russell/Green River Works Knife. I've done all sorts of crazy things with that knife, and it's never lost its edge.

(not my knife)

In the woods, I also carry a ToolLogic knife from ThinkGeek. I love that thing. Doesn't hold an edge worth crap, but does all sorts of other cool stuff.

Yes, it is a giant PITA when I go through a security checkpoint.

I wanted the thinest lock back pocket knife I could find, and this was it.
Gerber Trendy. It came with a money clip on one side, but that was quickly removed.

So thin it's only got one side!

Machete for touring.

I'm slightly off-topic, but need advice on the size/type of machete suitable to take along on a bike camping trip.

My new Rat Cutlery Izula.
Instead of using paracord, I wrapped the skeletonized handle with guy-line that I use on my camping tarps.

Gots two. The Benchmade Mini Griptilian that lives in my pocket, and the Leatherman Wave that lives in my tank bag.

The Benchmade is just a really well made, handy little knife. It's not freakishly huge, it's light, it's sharp, it has a good action, it's easy to use one handed, and I find a use for it most days.

The Leatherman, well, it's a Leatherman. It has screwdrivers, a file and a saw! Neato! My only complaint about it is that, for some reason, whenever I open the serrated blade it tries to take a sliver of meat off the ball of my thumb. Bastard. Otherwise it's a good tool.

I do prefer the little buttons for opening knives to the holes.

My favorite knife is a Ka-Bar.
I got the blade while in the Air Force and used it quite a bit.
Eventually, the stacked-leather handle wore out. My brother turned a new handle for me on his lathe. It's black walnut and the wood matches my "go to" recurve. I finished the handle and installed it on the blade.

The sheath was a surprise from a great friend in Florida. We had hunted together a few times, and he made this sheath as a gift.

This one is a custom elk antler handled Cold Steel Carbon V blade. The sheath was made by the same friend that made the one above.

I won this knife in an auction to help a the family of a premature baby with medical bills. That's a bad picture. The blade is longer and wider than the handle.
