Thumb 2009 Hells Canyon/Wallowa Valley Gathering - June 4-7

2009 Hells Canyon/Wallowa Valley Gathering
June 4-7, 2009

The what’s, where’s and all that fun stuff.

Thursday
Thursday Ride In and Set Up, we’ll be here Fri. night too.

No host camping (make your own arrangements)
Hells Gate State Park
5100 Hells Gate Rd
Lewiston, ID 83501
Phone: (208) 799-5015
http://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/parks/hellsgate.aspx

We’ll be in loop C next to the river. Last year many of us had reservations but they weren’t needed as there were only a few other campers in the entire loop other than us. The nice thing about having a reservation though is getting your site choice.

Friday
Friday Ride led by Idarider
Time: Meet for breakfast at 8:00 AM Ride at 9:00 AM
Where: Rusty’s Ranch Café, 2418 North, Lewiston, ID
We’ll be returning to Hells Gate Campground after this ride.

Friday evening for anyone that is interested we’ll order pizza delivered to the campground at about 7:00 PM. Bring your own beverage.

Saturday

Saturday morning, pack up and ride to Hells Canyon.
Staying with the way things have been done before there won’t be designated routes instead each person or group will decide what time to leave and how to get from point A to point B with whatever route suits them. There are paved routes, dirt routes, combination paved and dirt and there will be an extreme dirt route for the super adventurous let by 650X and Liv2rydKtms. I will get together some suggestions and if at all possible have some maps available in camp at Lewsiton.

Saturday breakfast at:
Snake river canyon lodge
205 Cleveland St. Asotin, WA
http://www.snakerivercanyonlodge.net/8001/index.html
They took good care of us last year and they are on the way. When you get to Asotin turn off Snake River Dr. into downtown for the café.

Destination, dinner (BBQ beef on a bun), camp and Sunday morning breakfast
Hells Canyon Bed & Breakfast.
49922 Homestead Road
Oxbow, Oregon 97840

Saturday night: Catered dinner at the B & B, dinner at about 6:00 PM
Saturday portion needs to be paid up front so I can give the B&B and the cater a good head count, so I can give them one check, and so I don’t have to scramble at camp to collect.

Send $20.25 for camping Sat. night, dinner, and breakfast Sun. morning to:
Sherry Cook
P.O. Box 13576
Spokane Valley, WA 99213

Please note your user name so I know who it's coming from and if you would like to add a tip for the catering feel free to add it to the check. I guess we can put out a tip jar at camp too.

If there is a reason you are not able to send a check please PM me and we'll figure it out. For those that are on the fence or anyone who decides at the last minute to come we'll deal with the funds in camp. Please have the checks to me before May 20. That's when I need to confirm numbers with the B&B and cater and I'll be headed out May 22nd to ride to Lewiston via Gold Beach, OR

Once I receive your check I will change the color of your name on the in list to green.

Sunday
Breakfast at the B & B then head for home or where ever your spirit takes you.

If you weren’t there last year check out the ride --à 2008_Ride_Report

Where Is The "IN" List?

"Most of you have already declared your INs on the Poll thread but since those weren't listed as they were posted please post your INs here and I will keep the list up to date."

Seems like we need a link to this "In" list......so that we all can confirm we are being counted..thanks..

Or we could just follow instructions and post here as requested. No sense in muddying up to waters or causing additional work for anyone. It's simple... if you are IN and want to be included in the B&B plans and catered meals post up here.

I have to see how the next month or two sorts out before committing but this run is easliy in my top 10 list of events I'd love to attend.

Thanks Ladybug for picking up the torch

Ok old list is dead..new list starts here and now..

Yes I am still in..but only for camping in the Canyon at the Stromer's B&B...not the meal, although it has been a great meal...it is not what I eat...

Let me know and I will send in my $$$ for the camping...and thanks for doing the reservations..

Also since it has not been mentioned I assume that there will be no group lunch reservations in Joseph...
