I also really like the sound boxers make wide open - I just don't want to be the guy making the sound. That said, the crackling on overrun with straight through baffle 2-1 was intoxicating.

I still don't have my own place to work on it though (still looking for a house) and all my tools are in storage, so that presents a few obstacles.

Question. Where are you pulling switched positive power off your m-unit for the motoscope? I'm pulling positive straight off the positive terminal on the m-unit and switched positive off the 'aux' output, but when I hit the starter button it seems to cut power for a moment and reset the motogadget. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying. I tried pulling switched positive from the ignition switch, but it backfed current somehow and kept the m-unit switched on even when the switch was off. How do you have yours wired? I was thinking of hooking it back up to the ignition switch with a diode.

I Don't have the M-unit on this bike. I mounted it on another R100GS and have one still in the box for a different project.
The switched positive comes from the ignition switch on my bike.

After riding the bike a few times what do you think about the driveshaft without the damper ?

It would require a complete redesign of the breather system if I were to remove the upper right part of the engine block casting as well as plugging the small oil drain-back hole into the crankcase. With that whole tunnel arrangement, hose fitting and longer hose, it also means the prize for removing all that mess is even greater: even more weight lost. My only concern with eliminating that long tunnel is increased oil consumption, but if the R65 operated without this arrangement, how much worse could it be?

Hi, Mike!

That looks like a powerdynamo magneto.

How is the power output on the power dynamo? It's the best price for a combined system, but will it run a bike, driving lights and a gps/phone charger? I don't need heated grips or clothes ...

PD is stock output, so like 180w? Will act like a regular system

Decisions...

PowerDynamo @ ~$700
Silent Hektik @ ~$1100
EME Enduralast @ ~$850

(all w/shipping)

Given the problems reported with the latest batches of EME hardware, that's out for now.

$400 more for SH system...more power, more history, more tuning options...

Gotta think about it some more.

EDIT: SH kit includes coil and cables...closes the gap a bit.

Hi Jasen
also thought its powerdynamo but looks like the rotor is closer to the back as on the standard one, and the pick up is mounted to the timing chain cover

back in good old Germany I had a lot of trouble with SH on guzzis and these memories are so bad I wouldn't try one of his system's even if he would give it to me but I'm pretty safe the owner is a tight ass
I love the powerDynamo for single and dual plugged airheads and what are heated grips?

I'm setting up a Baja light and Vapor speedo on my project. Did you put the stock connector board inside the Baja shell? Or....something else...?

The ST doesn't have the circuit board in the light like earlier BMWs.

I have a Baja Designs light on Gus. I've put in a Boatmans H4 conversion, which is run with some relays held in the bucket. But there isn't a huge amount of space in there.
