Roll call?

I work about a half mile up from the shipyard in Portsmouth and when I arrived to work this AM, the last 500 yards of the street were blocked off by police cruisers right at the entrance to the shipyard.

Looks like a fatal motorcycle wreck:

I know some people that have posted in here work there.

Really hoping everyone is ok.

That sucks, that's the way I go into work every day. I've been on leave in Daytona the last few days.

That is a shame.

Followed a link from that Pilot article, there were 8 fatal MC crashes in 2012. 8 deaths and 2 were women. It didn't say if they were passengers or operators.

I honestly would have guessed more with the way the cages drive around here and the high numbers of young military guys on race bikes.

It's hard to drive, text, and

look out for motorcycles all at the same time doncha' know.

Another sad reminder that it's absolutely deadly out there.

i usually go up to York Bolt on Hampton Hwy., always had good luck with them. Only thing is, all of their stock is in the back behind they counter so you have to tell them what you're looking for.

Taylors do it centers are much better than Lowes or HD. fasten all has everything but you sometimes have to buy in quantity.

I too have been trying to find a good local source for metric bolts. I always seem to need a bolt just slightly longer, or with a different head, or pitch or something that I can't find locally.

I have a good online source at DMP Fasteners, but they're in California and if you only need a couple of bolts the shipping and wait time are painful.

So far I have found in order of best selection, Taylor's, Lowe's, Home Depot (why do you need Metric? Duh)

I would gladly pay top dollar to walk into a specialty bolt and fastener shop and find what I need in small quantities, with better pricing for bulk.

I used Fastenal years ago at work as a source for some drill screws that we used by the thousands, but I've never checked them out as a source for specialty bolts, might have to stop in there.
