Good day to practice figure eights at the training grounds in Glen's.
Shameless plug for MSF courses.

Pictures provided for dljocky's benefit.

Yeah I go to WV all the time

Falcon, but I take my wife and son with me so no bike on those trips. If I ever move out there I'll have another DR for certain.

My daughter's 3, and I taught my wife to ride. Now she rides the TW and is hooked.

Where there's a will, there's a way haha.

How olds your son? Sounds like you need sidecar for the DR.

My son's about to turn 17, but if he's got any of my

wild-hair impulses lurking beneath his placid exterior I DO NOT want him riding motorcycles until he's matured a bit more. I started riding at 18, and to be honest I'm VERY lucky to be alive today. So far he's much more into computers and all that digital crap teenagers like today. I'll teach him to ride when it's his idea ...
As for my wife, she's happy to ride pillion and let me do the driving while she takes in the scenery.

Thanks guys.

Thanks biker128pedal. You covered some ground today!

Weldman, I agree with Falcon, as long as you are riding and having a good time, that's all that really matters.

I also learned to ride when I was in my teens (17) and agree it was a very bad idea.

Got my first street bike a few weeks after I turned 16. A Yamaha 550 Vision, then soon a BMW k100RS.

I had saved up to buy an old style Chevy Nova. My Dad said he didn't want any POS car I could afford broke down in his driveway and leaking oil on it. He did point out that I had saved enough for a decent bike.

Had one good crash while being stupid, that taught me a lot.

Can't say that I'd encourage anyone to learn to ride here at the Beach or Norfolk. People really do drive poorly here.

Does anyone know where I can get some old barn wood? I'm doing a project and need some.

Also I have a big play set in my back yard if you want it free to good home...PM me your mobile# & I will send pics. It's large but well built & will take a little while to disassemble.

Yes they do. I lived at the Beach and "commuted" to NOB and the shipyards back in my Navy days...........never a dull moment.

Stupid is as stupid does

I've lived here, in the Tampa Bay area, and up in MA about 50 miles south of Boston.

I'm at the conclusion that people in general are just a danger to anyone on 2 wheels. Especially now in the age of cell phones.

Hence my summary that WV is the best place on earth.

Jesus I so concur that

"WV is the best place on earth"! Been going there every year since my Dad took me trout fishing, starting when I was about eight. "Almost heaven ... "

Yeah, I really envy your Sugar Grove deal ...

I know the Brandywine/Franklin/Smokehole area well.

Your welcome up any time after June. Price of Porty Potty went through the roof, so now I am putting in septic. Waiting till late May to do the perc. test.

Might start playing with a fly rod. Lot's of people up there this week having a pretty good time doing that.
