I started out as an education major. Subbed in VB schools for a couple years and loved it, but most AP's I spoke with said it was a bleak outlook for the foreseeable future for new grad teachers. Still thinking about switching back to education and trying to teach. Very rewarding and can't beat the schedule.

Did a little off roading this afternoon. Getting more comfortable standing on the pegs, maneuvering slow on soft ground, and letting the tyres slide/spin as they may. Although I'm still not good at clutch control while standing, or shifting while standing. Gave up on it and left the clutch alone, hoping I wouldn't stall.

Very rewarding interacting with the students and the schedule is great.

Outlook for a male in Sp. Ed. isn't bad at all. If your not happy or making a decent living where you are now then you might want to check it out.

Getting a job in a good building makes a huge difference. The pay isn't good at all considering having a master's degree but it is steady work.

You probably have the clutch lever to high like it would sit on street bikes. You wanna turn it down a few degrees so your wrist isn't so bent when you're standing and trying to grab it.

I decided to ride the 4 whole dirt roads around my house this afternoon. Not to kick a dead horse, but there was not one, but two cars full of teenagers in the ditches today. Nobody was hurt, other than some pride. I guess their rally fu was weak today. At both "crashes" all the kids were milling about, laughing, reliving their previous glory, giving the drivers hell, etc. Anyway, I guess my points are these:

1. We were all MORANS when we were teenagers
2. Teens haven't changed much
3. You never know what's around the next bend in the road, so be careful out there guys!

Anybody interested in organizing a trip to the H-M trails later this spring, maybe doing a 4 day weekend in May or June?

Yes, yes and yes. We went last year and it was incredibly fun. Late June is best for me. We rode rockhouse and buffalo mountain. Both have easy to impossible trails.

Ktm 690...as much as I would like to do it on the Beemer, just to say it can be done, I don't really enjoy picking up a 500 pound bike.
