Spent all weekend off the grid for some quality family Shenanigans. Thought we were going to be crashing in brothers RV. Showed up at the lake and friend of the family hands us keys to his never lived in 1.2 MILLION dolla lake house.

It was hard on all of us roughing it like this.....but we managed.

Dude? No flippies over the bars? No hitting of tree's? From what I understand you might want to take Daaang with you next time to "liven" it up a little.

So ordered a bunch of stuff for the 450 last week. Pretty much everything has arrived except for the most important items............the fricken new shock and fork springs. . When I did her initial shake down run could almost bottom out the shock just climbing on. Dude I bought from was about 150........were as.....I am Not!

Ha! Yeah, it doesn't have the 'wow factor' of your average Lamb Boy Film. I was solo, so I was riding fairly conservatively. I need to look into a spot tracker. Thanks for the kind words, though, guys.

Cheers,
Lance

Friend of mine went down in Pungo yesterday on a little high speed run through the twisties.

Luckily hes perfectly fine and only suffered a scratch, broken mirror and broken passenger peg.

jeeeeeeze... lucky. that almost got ugly.

Matt, where was this? thought it was Mill Landing/Nanney's at first, but now doesn't seem like it. yeah, there are a few sections back there that always have loose gravel. if I haven't been in a while I try to take it easy, but it's tough keeping that in mind when you get into a nice rhythm.

no boots. brave soul.

Dude ALMOST experienced some hard enduro action. Don't think that 500 had the right tires on for the swamp section...

So if we wreck? Do we get hugs from the pretty lady too?

On to business. What local dealer has a good selection of offroad helmets? Have a mis-shapen head and would prefer to try on before I buy.

We have a big selection of off road, MX style, helmets at Cycle World right now. The only dual-sport helmet we have is an Icon Variant in medium. The MX helmets have no shield so they are goggles only. The Icon Variant has the MX look with a sun visor and flip down shield and can also work well with goggles. Theres like 6 members in this thread that have one including myself.

Cycle Gear also has a pretty good selection. I was up there today checking out an awesome Fox MX helmet on sale.

Right on! Will have to come in and try on the Icon and give your dealership some love....So what can you do about them carrying KTM's?

Have a Shoei Hornet and a Neotec that fit awesome. Have a Fly MX that fits great but have issues with full size goggles fitting, and the D'ring side of the chin strap is crazy short. I prefer goggles when doing any kind of spirited offroad riding. Tear-offs are your friend.
