It would also be greatly appreciated if you would bring some of the AZ sun back with you!

Hey! Help a local out. A much closer and well sorted DRZ, lightly used by TRED.

How about pushing him toward a dirt riding class/school? Many of them provide a motorcycle (for a fee) for training. After he lays the bike down about 100 times during class, he may have a different perspective on things!

If he's just going to ride pavement... then he can attend one of the local MSF courses.

I'd tell him to avoid anything new as a first bike. It just doesn't make sense. If you can't convince him otherwise, Twin County Motorsports in Rocky Mount will be the best deal he can find.

Had a very wet ride up to Blue Ridge this past weekend. It rained most of the way to Chesterfield Friday night, meaning I had to put on some cold, wet boots Saturday morning.

By the time we got to Scottsville Saturday morning, I was pretty miserable. Soaked boots and soaked gloves did it for me. Jacket and pants were fine, but my stuff never fully dried out Friday night. Blue Ridge was foggy, drizzly, and cold for 80% of the trip between Waynesville and Rt. 60. Normally we ride down to Otter Dam and then backtrack to hit 60, but since the weather was shitty, and the fog was taking away from any views, there wasn't much of a point.

Rain almost the whole way down 60 back to Richmond, but the home-made lasagna, apple crisp, and IBC Cream Soda made it worth while for me.

The ride back Sunday was going well until I hit Williamsburg. A big rain storm assured that my gear which had mostly dried out on the trip back, got one last soaking before I got home. By the time I pushed the bike in the garage, I was so sick of rain I could barely stand it.

Sadly this also means no video, and about 4 photos, which I haven't worked on yet.

Never had a bad trip up there, but this year was pretty unpleasant. Getting caught in a rainstorm when travelling is one thing, but riding for 500 miles in it is another. I feel worse for my friend Shaun, who travelled down from the Pittsburgh area, and rode in this garbage the whole way.

[shakes fist in direction of off-shore low pressure system]

Speaking of getting caught in rain - I had a similar ride when I left on Thursday (though I was only stuck in it for about 350 miles). My gear keeps me perfectly dry (with one exception I'm about to get to), so it's no big deal for me...the same can't be said for the person who was riding behind. Anyway, the one exception was that the lining of the gloves soak up the water from the sleeve of my jacket, so even though water doesn't actually get in either garmet, the gloves slowly soak up water like a paper towel and eventually the inside of the gloves is soaked. What am I missing? There must be some way around this.

He told me today that he is going the used route to save money. I told him the same thing about laying it down. A new klx250 out the door was going to be 6200!! Way too much,,but at least he saw the light

Front to back looks like a Diavel, 2 BMW's, and maybe a Yamaha? Hard to see the last one.

No need for apologies. I wasn't picking on you, just figured you forgot TRED's bike.
