Remember kids, keep the rubber side down! It doesn't take but a second to turn an entire year into a big old pain in the butt. I'm practically a certified hospital critic by now.

Pro tip, UVA medical center is an incredible facility, and they've really got a team of miracle worker, but the nurses are pretty ugly. My night nurse is Shrek's second cousin.

Nothing new, just follow up surgery. The plan was to remove the plate and all the screws. They ended up doing that plus cleaning up a tremendous amount of scar tissue. Plus the cut one of my bicep tendons off. They had tried to repair it last year, but it just didn't work, so he cut it off.

Pissed Some rides are more fun than others.

Rode to Roanoke Rapids, NC and back yesterday because I'd never been there and I thought it would be fun and scenic. Not really. Other than a nice little cafe in Jackson, NC, and the falls on the river at Weldon, I found nothing that really "got" me. Except for a certain gung-ho hillbilly cop in Newsoms Va. who wrote me up for speeding 46 in a 35 non-commercial, non-residential zone. Right outside of "Newsoms" on 671 apparently, in a wooded, deserted area, its a 35 zone. Well hell, I was doing sixty but slowed WAY down because I saw the cop pulled over behind a car with his lights flashing ahead. As I passed he pulled out behind me and pulled me over. I was polite as pie, and thought maybe he'd just give me a warning, since it was obviously a clandestine 35mph zone ... I swear I never saw a sign. Apparently he had just finished up with the car, and I was his next catch. $127 bucks! I won't be riding out in that direction anymore.

Anybody need a free weed wacker?

It ran fine last year but didn't want to start today. I am sure it will run but didn't fool with it because I bought Roger's 4 stroke honda trimmer last year.

free craftsman weedwacker, 2 spools of line and even a fresh gallon of 40:1 if you bring an empty can.

Must come before trash day.

Ballin on a budget?

Product review: I just picked up the Ozark Trail self inflating sleeping pad from Walmart and I must say this thing is great for $35. Its as nice as any Thermarest pad I have seen. Once taken out of the wrapper it packs down really small. Only takes about 8-10 breathes to fill up. Its not as comfortable as my Big Agnes pad but I can lay on my side without my hip bone touching the ground and thats all I need. I highly recommend this thing for the money. Comes with bag and patch kit as well.

yes, CR21/5. normally closed, but in decent shape all the way down. 2 track most of the way, but i can't see it as a private road.

Hey everyone,

This goes out to all you GS owners out there, I would really love a general walk though of a service on my r1200gs. I.E. proper method for changing oil, what to be checking ( shaft drive. ) so if anybody feels like meeting up and playing BMW teacher it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't BMWs use dark wheat beer stout in the engine and apricot schnaps in the shaft drive.
