Hey BE Coyote

Did you get another FJR? I laugh because I saw you posted something in the RoadWarriors thread and on the FJR Forum.

Looks like I bought an '08AE in Jacksonville, FL. Should be sitting in a friends garage there by tomorrow evening. Looking forward to riding it back through north GA and NC mountains.

Yup, sure did

Bought an 06 with a nicely set up suspension and I was able to buy my Russel seat back off the guy I sold my 08 to.

Post up some pics when you get a chance.

I'm still not sure I would like an AE but everything else about the bike is fabulous.

I rode a friends '06 AE a few times and got hooked. I was amazed how well the electric clutch function works.

Bought it mainly for my commute between Hampton and Norfolk but I suspect I may consider selling my 1100RS after a while. The electric clutch and water cooling will give my old RS a break when I do hit the slow traffic.

Big thanks to Chris (Upst8) for the GPS too. Hope you can make the next one man. We were blasting through those mountains.

Brian, thanks a bunch for a great spot to leave the trucks. You really helped us out.

Stone, what an honor to ride with you and your dad

If you guys weren't up and out there riding this weekend, you sure missed a good couple of days in the mountains. I might do a RR, so just a few teaser pics for now.

2.5 days-990 mostly curvy miles.

it was an enjoyable 65 F on the Scenic Highlands Highway at mid-day. (Marlinton, WVA)

like sets of waves.

I ducked in here for the only rain of the trip, I ate lunch, the rain let up, sun came back out-

then everbody came back out to play

you were invited....

Got back home last night around 6pm, after being on the road since 730am. Had a good week at Deals Gap/Fontana. Lots of friends, fantastic food (we ate like KINGS I tell ya), lots of laughs, and only 1 really bad crash (he should be ok though... after probably several months of surgery/rehab ).

I didn't take many photos myself. Got a neat one of the folks doing the annual "Night Dragon Run" that's kinda cool. But other than that, I just let the photogs on 129 do their thing.

I'm glad to be sleeping in my own bed, able to take a nice long shower, and get caught up on local events. But I always hate coming home. Wish I could stay longer out there. But I guess that's why it's a vacation.

I'm actually waiting for the guy on the blue/purple SV650S who's been practicing wheelies every few nights in the Bethel High School parking lot to bin it. And even though I've wanted to call the POleece several times, because I get sick and tired of the sound of his stock exhaust revving up and down, I've refrained.

You can't fix stupid.

Yah, the Reckless Driving will require a Lawyer and then the court costs and fine and the bump in insurance premium. $90 or even 150 would have been wisely spent learning the right way. People here at work always complain that the classes are always filled-up and no openings. I mention that they can take the class in Richmond and they act like it's a million miles away. Idjits. Had a kid here at work several years ago that was practicing wheelies at lunch time behind Hall C. Had to drop a dime on him cuz he was going to ruin riding for everyone onsite. Security guards gave him a warning and he never did it again.
