Well...if you come home and find your radio and gps dangling by the wires, scraping against the gas tank then you'll know I finally got one...

Yup. Took the Duc out to hit up some backroads after lunch. Was definitely cold and humid today. Probably the coldest temps I've ridden in (36-ish, I think). Wanted to try out my new winter gear and I was pretty comfy, other than my face and my feet. They were miserable. Time for some heated socks and a helmet skirt I guess.

Took a good ride today. A friend from work and I rode down to the Outer Banks. We left my house at around 1100 and rode down to, Just before Rodanthy , were the road was washed away and there's a temporary bridge over the island's new inlet. I don't know what they're planning on doing about it, but a good noreaster
might could reshape the island at that spot.

Turned around there aand started back home. We stopped and got a bite to eat and Iwas back home at a little after 1700. It was a little chilly with, I figure, about a 20 mph north wind. A nice tail wind going down, but a pretty mean head wind coming back. Temps. were in the lower 40s going down and inthe mid 30s coming home.

The outer banks is a pretty good ride in the winter, no traffic and an interesting landscape. It seems like road looks different every time I go down it.

I'm assuming you mean the movie making?? Just like everything in life, I like to set expectations low, making them easy to exceed. Don't ever expect an original soundtrack from me though, I can't carry a tune in a bucket. I do own a harmonica and a kazoo though.......

GS is without wheels right now, hopw to be back on the road next weekend maybe. After that, its Dam Neck time.

Yeah, based on your first motion picture, I figured you'd be up to the task of dethroning the one man band riding a hp2 (no, that's not a printer, it's a motorcycle.) Hard gig to follow, but you're the man. Can we expect a late-January release date?

Anyone else go to the DC motorcycle show this weekend? Quite a bit of good stuff there. Kawasaki had 4 KLR's on display.

When I told the one salesman that my next bike will be a KLR/DR/XR, I couldn't get him to shut up. Literally. I would try walking to one side or the other, planning my escape, and he would quickly side-step me, blocking my exit.

I also couldn't get a word in edgewise, even after he'd ask me a question like "How much do you travel?" or "How much off-road experience do you have?" I finally pretended my friend had called me away, looking past him and nodding my head. Pretty sure he was still blabbing on as I walked away.

Oh, and the new Ducati 1199 Panigale was on display. Very interesting machine. Crazy cool.

Rode to work this morning... 28F is pushing it for bike with no fairing whatsoever.

I may be stupid, or at least hardheaded, but I still would rather be on it than in my car.

Pissed This is total crap

BULLSHIT!!!!

Exhibit A) V-Strom 650 in Dam Neck trails, if I had filmed this day I would not have to play back at 2x speed to look fast....it's a weak and devious technique

V-Strom tackles class 2 rapids

Exhibit B) Fore mentioned V-Strom on gravel road in process of overtaking dweeb on GS (can't remember riders screen name at this time)

Exhibit C) Same dweeb, harder terrain, more capable bike and what happens? V-Strom 650 is held up temporarily while passing to hunt down a DR650

Exhibit D) Fuck you KLR riders too The fastest dual-sport advventure machine cannot be stopped!!! V-Strom hunts down KLR (the lime green one too!! and everyone knows that is the fastest color!!)

Last, but not least.....

Just kidding, awesome video JJ and go fuck yourself

Cycle Gear has an XXL thermal suit on sale on the clearance rack. I bought one a few months ago and rode on a 20 degree day and felt no chill at all. Its like being in a sleeping bag. Id go check it out.
