Mid town tunnel through Norfolk, Hwy 17 up to Warrenton (SW of D.C.), and there are some nice other roads up on the peninsula that I ride when I go to MD.
Met up with riding partner, next morning HWY 211/522 to Strasburg, then 55 up to Elkins. Hwy 33 to Harrisonburg for the night (was about 6.5 hours plus in the saddle , home today in the rain using 33/10.
Hwy 55 and 33 (33 west of Harrisonburg) are absolutely sick with twisties!!!
What a great trip! I'd do it again tomorrow if I didn't have this job thing.

It is great up there. Been there the past couple weekends. Came back today and heading back again Wednesday. Last week of summer vacation.

I have a camp there in Sugar Grove, go up all the time. Shoot me a pm when you have a free weekend.

I now longer have a GS but have an FJR if you want to do twisties and keep a DR650 up there for gravel/dirt.

I haven't done a good job of keeping or organizing tracks.

My buddy kicked my butt in the twisties with his GS and me on my GS, it would be near criminal to put my GS and skills up against your FJR. At least I'm humble in defeat.

Don't sell the GS short, I could run the tighter twisties faster on my GS than I could the FJR. Now if things open up a bit the FJR would leave the GS behind. It is a great spot for pavement, half way between 33 and 250, close enough to Smoke Hole and Glady too. Up against the GWNF too so plenty of gravel/dirt.

Eh, I offer all the time. Moymurfs is the only one who ever comes up.

We did some twisties and some plinking last weekend.

How often do you ride the dirt up there Brian? Id love to ride some of the twisty roads but I cant do long road trips, the CRF seat just isnt comfy enough.

Not as much as I'd like, I don't go too far off cause I'm usually alone and things could be bad if I'd hurt myself out in the boonies alone. Even a mechanical problem could really suck.

Of course when I say dirt, I'm not talking about what you nut balls do. I'm more of a casual explorer.

Im dying to get up there and do some more exploring. We plan to go up a few days early before the Shenandoah 500 and do some riding around your spot again.

Did you have plans to ride the SH500?

Yep, I'll head up Thursday after work and probably ride over to Natural Chimneys on Friday with my camping gear. A friend or two might come down from Pittsburgh, we may decide to just base out of my trailer.

You guys are welcome to park up there again.

Yeah, but my fat ass broke that one lol. About 50 yards to the left is another one with a thicker rope and it's got a whole platform to jump from. Check it out in the Jammin Thru The George video.

If this is during the week of the Shenandoah 500, let me know, I might be in. I may be old, fat and slow but I can pick up the GoPro cameras that fall off the young, slim and fast guys' bikes.

Fuck yeah you can go!!! Id love to ride with you Slug. Going up early is Me, Tom (-Tred-), Bob (xyloworx), and my little brother. We will just be cruising out there. Not looking for any carnage before the Shen5.
Were leaving Weds Oct 3rd around 8AM, be at B.E.'s by 2PM, unload and RIDE! Leave Friday morning to the Shen5 camp ground.
