I might go out for a bit this afternoon and visit Slades. I'm thinking on a Monday, there might not be many people there, and I can explore a bit.

Its a terribly run ATV park in Surry.
The land has tons of potential and could be a great place to ride. But the owner is a douche bag. Like a literal bag of douche. But the place is still pretty fun. Mostly catered to quads but there is a little single track and some wide open sand sections good for guys with big bikes who want some sand practice. I want to go because there is a long stretch of sandy whoops that are good practice for the Sand Blast rally I plan to attend in March. If anyone is interested Weds morning let me know!

Cool, more DRs around. I just did the GSXR muffler mod this past weekend and got an 18" rear DR350 wheel from Poondangle for mine.

Gotta say Im struggling a touch kick starting the thing, I'm guessing it likes being started a certain way,, Or it needs a little mechanical TLC. Rides strong once I get it going ,, but kicking my ass a touch to get it there,, it's an old bike for sure. But much like the klr they are a pretty simple bike,, any DR pros wanna give me advice ill gladly take it,, What I am currently doing:
While bike is off, I'm choking it, turning peacock to prime, holding decompression, kicking it about 6-7times to get the juices flowing,, Turning peacock to run, turn bike on,, kicking it to TDC. Release pressure and jump on it, and jump on it again,, And again...... And AGAIN

Buckrut, did you go snorkeling with the DR?
![]() B. E. Coyote, I bet the bike sounds nice, huh? APJ, I'm sure once you get the method down, it'll get easier. Some bikes are just a bit finicky. [QUOTE=buckrut1972;20170560]Smooth huh, I only jarred one filling loose. Had a blast and windshields can be replaced! I needed to modify anyway! |

![]() I think you should uninstall the peacock! A couple things to try: Check valve clearances. Check your carb for a clogged pilot jet (does it idle ok?) Check your air filter. A new spark plug could help if the one in there is weak. |
