It was also flown by Herman "Fish" Salmon (this is worth a watch) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUMl3YlSX8M
Fish was one hell of a guy. He would show up on his yellow Honda 750 w/Vetter fairing and fly whatever we had to thow at him. He shared his story with me when he was testing a P-38 into a dive and went super sonic

EDIT: THE MAN FROM ARKANSAS IS A NEW PAPPA! HOPEFULLY THIS THING WILL FINALLY FLY AFTER 60 YEARS IN A BOX.

It's absolutely brand new in the box, vintage early 1950's. I tried to give it away on Ebay for ten bucks, but no takers. (MODS - THIS WAS A FREE GIVEAWAY INCLUDING THE RIDE. JUST TRYING TO PAY IT FORWARD...)

My 1948 PA17 Vagabond had an AeroMarine AS indicator. Needed calibration so I sent it off to an insturment shop in Detroit. Got a phone call from the shop and he said it had a Radium dial.......I said so??????
Bottom line is they calibrated the inst. and sent me the old radium dial and installed a new dial. I had it for a long time but it has been misplaced somewhere......Just remember that "No good deed goes unpunished"!!!!!!

I have the app on my tablet. I get notifications if a plane squawks an emergency code.

Edit: Yesterday I received an alert for an Air France 777 that lost comms. Today I found the avherald.com entry covering it. http://avherald.com/h?article=460cef66&opt=0

Sent from my Samsung Note 10.1

Great stage set for a science fiction movie.
