Southern Indiana Dual Sport Camp & Ride August 29th 2015

We have put together some great tracks and some great day rides in the past, enough I think that is worthy of a weekend of camping and carnage!

What:
A full on one day dual sport ride with as much single track, rough roads and gravel to get there as possible and at least 200 miles of tracks available for the day!
If you have a bigger bike or just dont want to do the gnarly stuff we'll have go arounds.
This will be a self led ride and I will post tracks once we get them final and closer to the ride date.
If you don't have a GPS, come out anyway and link up with a group that does and follow along!

Where:
Jackson, Lawrence, Brown, Bartholomew and Washington counties.

FREE CAMPING! free is a good price right? Shower (will be a single free standing outdoor shower) and porta-johns will be available as well as water access and electricty for charging phones and stuff. No individual water/electrical hookups so if you bring your Winnebago please be self contained but there is plenty of room to park it and tons of room for tents. Oh, and FREE CAMPING! Did I mention that?
Did I say anything about the FREE FIREWOOD!? Split and ready to burn, we have that too!

Where is this free camping?

The GPS coordinates are
N 3853.286
W 08615.838

And the address is.
953 N. Co. Rd. 1225 W.
Norman, IN 47764

Its just 4 miles east of the junction of U.S.HWY 50 and 446, between Brownstown & Bedford right off HWY 50 on several acres of private land owned by a fellow inmate notyetbroke so be sure to thank him when you see him!

PICTURES OF CAMPSITES IN POST # 6

For those that want electric and water hookup on a paying basis there's a campground about 5 miles West from where we'll be camping.
http://www.freespiritcamp.com/

For you non-campers the closest motel is the Plaza out on Hwy 50, it's about 3.5 miles West from where we'll be camping.
http://www.manta.com/c/mmgc6b0/plaza-motel

But it'll be more fun to hang out with all of us rather than staying at some stuffy motel or campground and cheaper too!

When:
Saturday August 29th 2015
Most of us will be setting up camp/tents Friday evening the 28th after work to camp that night and you're welcome to do the same!
I plan on getting a 7am start on the ride, you can start whenever but there is a lot of fun miles out there so earlier is probably better.
Ride like hell Saturday and return to the campsite that evening for food and good times! The first 2 cases of Hamms are on me!

FOOD UPDATE
What if we didn't have to mess with a pitch in meal and all the hassle after a long day..

What if we had someone at the campsite who had pulled pork barbeque, slaw, potato chips, cornbread and beans ready the second you stepped off your bike?
Would that be worth somewhere around let's say a $8.00 to $10.00 "donation" for a refillable plate to the person's that provided it?
The above "donation" would in no way benifit myself or anyone else involved in the ride, just covering The cost of materials and time for the people that would provide and cook all that food.
What do you think?

Sunday August the 30th will be pack up and go home day whenever you wake up or feel like it, no hurry.
Some may even ride again, I probably will.

Now you know! Do you like pictures? You'll see this stuff along the way!

Videos?

Thats a start, I'll post more!

Place holder for tracks

Place holder for tracks................
Actively working on tracks at this time, just some info about them, they will be very detailed and will double back on themselves and come very close together at times.
We're not going anywhere in paticular, just stringing some great roads together, this ride will be all about the ride! Nevermind the compass.
Watch closely for detailed tracks on some areas so you don't miss a good off-road trail, I will mark these as well.
I will include the go around options in a separate track package and will include waypoints and heads up notifications for the rough stuff.

More pics

I'm sure the tree will be gone by the time were there.

Plenty of this!

Weddleville School, I'll try to get them to open if you'd like to see inside, they restored it a few years back.

Lunch stop, really good food! Here's a menu below and I believe they've started serving breakfast until 12:00 their biscuits and gravy are fantastic!

Don't be shocked by the $10.00 Gobbler burger, its a beast and well worth it, many people struggle to finish it!

Kathy and Rory inside hard at it! I've told them to expect us on the 29th so they'll be ready, you can even call ahead and place your order.
You'll have an opportunity to eat lunch in Brownstown when you refuel but do yourself a huge favor and wait until you get here. Also at Justarida's request they will have peach cobbler.

Due to a direction changes in the route, the closest and most convenient place for breakfast will be the Farmers market gas station out on Hwy 50.
You can still go to Norman for breakfast but it's a bit out of the way.

More to come.........

Mouth of the monster.

Make a left and down, down, down.

Might get hung on a log..

Or drop it in disgust.

Nice road here!

CAMPSITE PICTURES BELOW

If I know Notyetbroke like I think I do, he'll make this one of the most enjoyable camping experiences you've had, heck of a guy he is!

Trees available in the back for the hammock people.

I believe this is where the fire will be.

Count me in, Lord willing and the creek dont rise! but then really who cares if it does! This sounds like a great plan! Let me know if you need help with anything. If you decide pitch in is the way to go I can fire up the smoker and get the little lady to work up a keg of baked beans! I do hope your planning on running the "mouth of the beast" going down not up. Looks great cant wait.

This will make an appearance too.

You'll see this...

Cross this....

See this...

Ride this..

And this!

Lots of gravel!

Not all can be dirt and gravel.

Just some roads you'll ride and things you'll see, so if you have plans August 29th cancel them and come ride!

Fire away with questions and I'll add more pics and info as we go.

We got you counted!
We could work that in too no problem, but what you're seeing in this thread/pics is a private section of land that will be available to us for the ride, and there are hills on it! More on this later.
