We may or may not ride on Monday depending on the amount of rain we get though.

Have a good time riding the Hatfield McCoy trails they are some of the best I have ridden, watch out for the black diamond single track it is no joke. Tpar1220 and I rode there last year at about this time. I guess my only gripe is that they did away with the 3 and 5 day trail passes, but even at $50 you still get your moneys worth.

BTW those trails have really changed those little towns, they have really grown since the trails opened up I didnt even recognize Gilbert when we pulled in. I rode there 1st organized ride back in 95 when I first got out of the Army, took a brand new XR600 down there. It didnt look new when we left 3 days later, the organized "ride" turned into 3 days bar banging racing........good times
I knew you knew exactly what I was getting at. And I knew you already understood before I said it, but not everyone that might read this thread gets it. Just don't want others thinking since everyones riding its no big deal.

To be honest I have never been to Redbird to help maintain trails. I just starting doing the offroad stuff last winter and therefore never really cared, but now that I have been riding for almost a year I understand the importance and would like to help next time a group organizes to do maintenance. How does one find out when its being done?

Yeah, the trails sure have changed the whole area in WV. To bad other states don't figure it out like they did and how many dollars their communities can bring in. Thanks for the tip on the black diamond trails!

I remember that day too... i don't off road too often anymore, but I got to that day. Blood, swollen purple joints, ...yeah, good times!

Gets me in the mood to get the KX out!

First road trip a success!

I managed to make it out to upstate NY and back this weekend. Some minor problems that had to be worked out before returning home in the torrential downpour of rain all the way from Jamestown, NY to somewhere before Columbus, OH on Monday. Definitely endured more than a few "pucker moments" on the 1,800+ mile trip. Good times even though rough NY roads decided to thrash the trailer fenders & axle. Unfortunately, I spent all day Sunday (when I was scheduled to go sling dirt with friends) working on getting the fenders welded back together and building a new axle to get back home with. Oh well, crap happens. All in all a good road test, regardless. Trailer is tight now and ready to roll!

Awesome Frank. My Dad's people were from Jamestown before they moved way south to Warren county PA.

Great pic!

Glad the trailer setup didn't hurt you. Did the bearings just go out or the axle itself fail and brake?

Sorry to hear about the bite mark your ass made on your seat cover.

I know my brother (godwinmt) frequently posts in this forum, so I thought I would let everyone know what I just learned. Apparently, he was riding with some friends and a guy pulled out in front of him (must not have been able to see the hi-viz jacket ). He is currently in the hospital with what they believe is a broken lower leg, and will be going into surgery shortly. Nothing too serious, but he won't be on a bike for a while. Too bad too considering he just got his DR650 fixed from laying it down a few weeks ago...

Best wishes to him. I met you guys at the Nashville McD's a while back.

Is he in the Columbus Hospital?
