To Plate or Not To Plate

Does anyone here have any experience licensing a two stroke motorcycle in Indiana? The bike is a 2011 KTM 300. I have not yet seen the title but I'm told it is a "Kentucky Certificate of Title" Whatever that means. The bike is in stock form without a headlight, taillight, or a brake light.

The reasoning for wanting a street tag is to be able to participate in some dual sport events. I'm trying to decide if it would be worth the cost and hassle of dealing with the DMV.

If I end up getting this bike will I need a permit of some kind to be able to ride Redbird or Inner Lake?

Thanks

yes, it can be done. i did it to my 01 ktm 300 mxc. 05 or newer will require whatever paperwork (title, coo, off road title) manufacturer assigned to that vehicle. 04 or older just needs a bill of sale. of course... bike needs to be clean.

there are a few forms you will need from bmv, once all forms are completed you will need to have vin checked by police or bmv rep (really helps if you know someone).

it can be done, just be patient and willing to make a few trips to bmv, but most importantly... get that title from po in ky... without that.. being that its a 2011.... you will be ass out!

no.. once your 300 is plated, thats all you will need.

KaTooMer Passenger Pegs...

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience in adding passenger pegs to their KaTooMers by chance? Now before y'all go nuts and give a big lecture about how passengers should be on their own bike or that the 520EXC "Punkin' Chucker" subframe can't handle the extra weight of a passenger, please note that it's for my 9 year old daughter that really wants to go to some of the places that I come home and tell her that I've been. She thinks the world of Daddy's "ADVrider friends" and loves to check out each and every photo/video that I come up with after a good ride, whether it's with you guys or off by myself riding to work and back. I already have plans of getting the seat on this bike redone (both my for my hindend & a lightweight passenger's) but am having kind of a rough time trying to come up with idea for passenger peg mounting. I can fabricate most anything if I could see something that looked like a good idea and I felt comfortable about using it. Probably the best ones that I've seen are made by CrossPlane but they hook to the rider's pegs and I dunno what it is, but they seem unsettling to me. Normally I would just weld tabs to the subframe and go steal the pegs off from my good buddy oPAULo's DRZ400SM and bolt them on... but the right side of the Punkin' Chucker's subframe makes this trickier than normal because of exhaust guard/sidecover placement. Any other ideas??

I'm planning on it. Will be coming up in a cage with my oldest daughter. We may be stopping to grab another new inmate along the way too.
