Speaking of the kili...finally brought mine back from Iowa and cleaned it up. Took a night of soaking it in detergent in the bathtub, some oxyclean spot remover, and 2 trips through the washer to get the blood stains out, but it's almost as good as new! Luckily my wreck wasn't very fast so there's minimal abrasion on it. Tried it on tonight after it finished drying and my pressure suit fits under it, and the leatt has no problem going over top of it :) technically not the correct way to wear the brace, but the jacket's thin enough there that it works pretty well.

God I can't wait for these next couple of months to go by!

Is that a Verizon "Comando" phone you got there godwinmt ???????

The "Mans" smart phone.

I went into Verizon and told the gal I wanted a smart phone---but it had to be special---waterproof---shockproof----dustproof---crashproof-----high side proof----low side proof----dumbproof. She looked at me----my riding gear---my bike outside and said-----"Oh,,,,,,,you need the "Comando".

Yeah----I like the sound of that-----"The Comando"---------I'll take it.

If your bike weighs more than 400lbs. You might not make it.

That it is Mark! And I'll verify that it is high side/low side/pickup truck hitting you proof...the dumb proof on the other hand is a little questionable, but I'm happy with it. It's definitely not the cream of the crop of most other smartphones but it does everything I need it to! I had a case on it for a while because it was @#$!@# expensive, but it just got dirt trapped underneath it so it got yanked off.

I had a friend in college with the dumb phone version of it called "the rock." He was climbing into his dad's tractor trailer and the phone fell out of his pocket. He found this out as they were backing out of the driveway and one of the steer wheels rolled over it. The phone survived.

Verizon sales person tried to talk me out of the Commando phone 'cause it's old tech. I trust it's durablity over a standard smart phone and 3rd party case. It's my first smart phone.

So far the Commando is better than I expected. Spare batteries are $10, so I keep a couple charged up to take on trips where charging will not be always available. I've had trouble getting some USB power outlets to charge it, but finally got my KLR setup for charging. Now to duplicate that setup on my TU.

Woodsrat had a valid point on technology.

hydrogen peroxide

In reference to godwinmt statement of getting blood out of his jacket, FYI, hydrogen peroxide gets blood out of fabric amazingly well. Just pour it on and it rinses away trouble free, some how dilutes it to nothing, and hasn't harmed any fabric the 2 times I've used it. And Pert shampoo gets it out of your hair, dilutes it in the same manner, most regular shampoos just spread it around. Here's to hoping none of you ever need these tips!

Good tip! Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizer. When it comes in contact with blood it essentially reacts with with the blood and in laymans terms, rusts it away :)

Good tip! Any good advice on the best way to pulverize teeth once they're out? Oooops...maybe we're talking about something of a different process altogether... my bad!
