Moab utah

Speeking of Utah do any of you have any favorite trails/roads you've been on around Moab or other areas in Utah. I already have a list of more things to see than i have time "thanks to alot of moab threads" but just curious. Looking for good scenery and to have a little fun. Planning on some fun trails for a few days and maybe a few days of nice curvy pavement and dirt roads like the Burr trail etc.

i never had any trouble outta that husky aside from the dash. the factory electronic dash was a flaming pos! but a trail tech vapor fixes all that and they attach right in factory location. i just never got around to replacing it.

everyone said to replace the cam chain at 10,000 miles or bad things would certainly happen. so... i tore it down and replaced it and found no evidence of stretched chain. the guides didn't have a scratch. i went ahead and replaced the chain as i had it apart and installed an ape tensioner.

maint was very simple.. oil changes were maybe 10 min, i only changed the plug once... and only cuz i had engine apart and plug out to rotate engine over... so may as well replace it. and valve adjusts were simple as they have screw/locknut adjusters.

the 610 is a tall bike.. and top heavy, especially with oversize tank.. which it needed as it only got 42 mpg. but it was a power house so i guess you can't have that much power and good gas mileage too. also... the turning radius sucked. you needed a 4 lane highway to turn it around. i am sure i coulda ground the stops down some... just never got to it.

the transmission is 6 speed and smoothest trans of any bike i owned. didn't matter if oil was clean or dirty, hot or cold... it shifted like butter all the time. even with broken clutch cable (which happened several times) i could ride it no problem. the starts were a bit iffy but i managed just fine. and stator output is awesome... like 275 watt! so you can run bout anything you want.

great bike... if i were to happen upon a smokin deal on another one... i wouldn't hesitate.

Yes...I finally got my Dakar started and out of the garage yesterday. The wife had other plans, but after seeing everyone's pictures lately I had to do it. Went out to Beck's Gristmill and hit the Jackson/Washington forestry area. Sadly there are no pics....had too much fun shedding off winter.
