Just figured I would pass it along as many of us use it for a meeting/lunch place on rides.

That sucks that was good food. Plus they let me use their restroom when I needed it more than ever. Hopefully someone gets it and makes a good living running it.

Word to the wise...

Y'all be careful when rolling through Bedford with a D/S that has a plate that's not totally vertical, lit up & easy to read from about a mile away. There's new/young blood tryin' to make a name for himself and just popped me with a very sternly written warning (wrote it in ball point pen instead of crayons this time) and gave me an ass chewin' over my plate and because he "thought" that I wasn't gonna stop for a stop sign (which I did, in fact, do) and for speeding because he "thought" that I had to be going at least 10 mph over the posted speed.

So in other words, don't speed through stop signs in Bedford. Got it.
Hooligan. I'm shocked you weren't on the back tire.

Up here we got the fancy horizontal plates

Glad you didn't get ticketed. He'd have a hayday in Lafayette. I've never seen so many plates mounted sideways or at a 45 deg angle. Not to mention, no one follows any road laws.

I know in Florida it's a $1000 ticket for the plate not being horizontal and lighted up. Happened just before I left. Daytona is having a hayday writing tickets for that one. Friend of mine is a LEO and he got the ticket and had to pay. Second offense is a felony crime along with blowing stop signs on back tires or front tires too.

Some people try to turn back their odometers.
Not me! I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

I’m starting to prep my 2003 KTM 640 Adventure for the UTBDR in June, so I spent a little time in the garage this weekend. Changed the oil and filters… pretty routine…

Also decided to install some Pivot Pegz for the trip since I will wear my Gaerne SG10’s for this whole trip. Having the Pivot Pegz installed will make shifting in the stiff boots much easier…

In order to install them, you have to upgrade the left side footrest bracket because the old one has the peg fitting over the bracket rather than inside it. To upgrade, you just need to order KTM Part Number 58403038100 and purchase a pair of 10 mm x 65mm x 1.5 thread pitch stainless socket cap screws to replace the stock bolts on the old bracket. The stock bolts are actually only 60mm long, but the new bracket is a little thicker, so in order for the plastic locking nuts to actually thread all the way onto the bolt, you need 65mm ones. You could also use 70mm ones if they are easier to find. I opted to go with stainless to avoid corrosion. You also need to order the footrest pin that goes with the new bracket since it is a bit longer than the old one.

Here’s a shot of the actual box the part comes in…

Here’s a side sot of the bracket installed…

Here’s the left Pivot Pegz installed…

And the right…

Shot of the back side of the frame so you can see the nuts…

I also got a set of pannier liners for Christmas from my father-in-law, so I cleaned out the panniers and fitted them for the first time…

Here’s the 35L…

And the 41 L…

I can already tell that I am really going to like these!

I also ordered a new steel rear sprocket, a new countershaft sprocket and a new chain. I also decided to replace the wheel bearings while I am at it, so I ordered those too.

I’m really looking forward to this trip. About the only thing I have left to do is upgrade the hand guards. Think I may opt for the Highway Dirtbike Hand Guards…
