Off topic: Wondering if anyone rents out a house? I live in Bloomington and my wife and I are needing a bigger house. We are considering renting our current house and are wondering what hidden downfalls besides tenants from hell we could run into. Any crazy Indiana laws to consider, tax adjustments, etc? Anything that I might not even know about.

Right off the bat you lose your homestead property tax discount if it's no longer your primary residence. You may also have to acquire a certificate of occupancy, depending on your local laws, before you can rent it out.

Property tax will double on the house once you rent it. Tax caps are 1% on residential, 2% on farm and rental, and 3% on commercial property. Insurance costs on it will go way up too.

The house will need to meet the regular, national building codes and renter code as well. They are pretty strict with windows as fire escapes and smoke alarms etc. I'm building an apartment bldg for my brother now ,who already has almost 700 units in town. Let me know if I can be of any more help.
Good luck,
Jeff

New bike

I traded in the bmw g650gs for this new bike:

The NC700x (2013) in the faster red color. So far, even with the break-in period, getting 70+mpg combined country road, state higways, and interstate riding
No more thumper (it got to the point i hated the sound of the thumper-I like twins).

I believe that's one of those anti-shart devices to protect the seat when things get sketchy....

Cool bike though! Don't these have an automatic mode??

Nice bike David. I was fascinated with the NC700 when I first learned about them last year and really wanted to see one before buying anything else. I finally got to see it in person for the first time while visiting Ireland last summer and although I really liked it, it just wasn't the bike for my frame. I also learned about the F700GS for the first time while out there too which blew my mind; Europeans get all the cool stuff first. Anyway, I settled on the F800GS and is the bike for me.

Sweet! Hard to imagine him not having the time of his life.

My first time on a bike when I was a kid went like this

Killed it, alright son more gas and slower clutch
Killed it, alright son more gas and slower clutch
Killed it, slower on the clutch and don't be afraid to use the throttle.
Then, completely out of control wheelie until I fell off ten feet later.
