Anyone got any info on the Buffaloe 500 ADV ride aug 10? I emailed them. Haven't heard back. I guess I just want to know if the DRZSM would be ok? Obviously it isn't for dual sport ride, but adv ride mostly pavement and gravel?

Pretty sure the adventure ride is all pavement and gravel. You would be fine on the DRZSM, probably be ok with the Ural too.

I'm in

BTW, if anyone wants to do some riding down around Oldenburg and 229, count me in. I find more awesome roads down there every time I run through. I'm going to work up a route soon.[/QUOTE]

I agree, the roads around here are awesome. The adventure touring folks would feel right at home but the dual sport guys might get a bit bored. Although Haspin is only 20 minutes away....

You live down there SideTrip? I really like those roads East and West of 229. 229 itself is a lot of fun. I make that run South from Richmond every once in a while. Used to do it in my supercharged Miata but I've converted to a Strom 650. Same roads, completely different experience. Are you saying there's not too much for unpaved adventure down there?

Oh I'd bring the drz for a little fun. Once the boy is a little bigger I'd bring the Ural.

I rode one day of buffaloe dual sport and one day adventure last year. Dualsport is tight woods with technical sections. The adventure is all pavement and gravel, a few creek crossings. Need roll chart or follow someone.

A roll chart?! Indiana Dakar ride or what? I'll just follow some richy on a dirtless GS with fancy GPS.
