A long great day

So I finished setting up the tent after dark last night, and kinda missed the part where you snug up the rainfly. No problem, I was reminded around 3.30 a.m. when the steady drip on my sleeping bag joined with the thunder and rain to make sleep impossible. I stayed on the therma-rest half-asleep, half-soaked, and mostly miserable until the rain finally let up and I hit the door for a pre-dawn hike around the Morgan-Monroe Forest. I got some nice pics for the trouble.

Back to the campsite and try to dry out the equipment...

Then off to meet Zamboni and tpar. I followed these guys all over on some of the best roads around. Which ones? I don't know. Maybe all of them, but definitely the road Less Travelled.

And that's the only pic we stopped for. We were too busy riding the wheels off those bikes. Thanks, guys. It was a great day.

I've been fortunate the crew enjoys riding in it. I thought we were a few years away from the purchase of a ural but certain life events to friends made me realize sometimes you just gotta pull the trigger once in a while. And an excellent craigslist find helped!

Once you've recouped, lets go for a ride again, Gabor.

Ha. We should have stopped for more photos, but tpar had us on stuff I didn't want to stop and lose my momentum just for a photo. Good ride, fellas.

I was on it a few weeks ago. I don't remember a no outlet sign though. Maybe it was on the other side of the highway. We rode up the hill on a narrow gravel road through heavy forest north of Nashville. It goes by some really nice log homes, buried in the woods. Big money in there! As I recall we came out on a paved road that lead in to Nashville.

Engine Repair

Hello fellow inmates, I am doing a bit of work on an older Yamaha 250, seems the compression is quite low. Pulling the head and cylinder next weekend. Any recommendations on a good shop that can bore the cylinder should it need this or re-grind valve seats? It may be as simple as a bad gasket I will know more when I get the head off. Thanks for the suggestions in advance. It's been a while since I had a bike this far apart. Man needs something to do while he enjoys beer.

Hello all,
We were thinking of going down to check out this bridge this coming Saturday and I was hoping someone could tell me if it's still open to traffic?..

It's the "Wabash Cannon Ball Bridge" located southwest of Vincennes, IN. ( 3836'18.71" N 8737'36.84" W )

Thanks, & Have a great day, Jeff...

It was last fall. It is a toll bridge to cross; $1 per vehicle.

I'm not so sure. Every one he has changed has gone flat again.
