Thanks for the tip, I may do that

Got to ride with some complete lunatics yesterday! We ran a mix of the HNF and Loose nut routes. I pulled in the garage at about 10:00 last night with 270 miles on the XRR. That was one hell of a good time!

...and here's me in my Converse All-Weather, Waterproof, Heated, Spike Studded, Ankle Support, Moisture Wicking, All-Terrain Chuck Taylor's.

Looks like an awesome day Bones. Judging by how clean your bike still looked I'm guessing you didn't hit the super muddy sections of the LN.

Those were "Before" pics. We found the mud...oh, god did we find the mud! We cruised through Interlake. We took a short cut to get there that included what seemed like a half mile of pure butt-puckering muddy ruts.

Needle was on 4th slot I put it on the top slot./lowered/PO said he only did that when he ran it on sealevel.
Now it runs a bit better, still backfires a bit,and idle still not stable. If rev it up RPM will stay high for few secs then drops but still jump up and down.
Also till 1/4 throttle it cuts out,and runs fine anything above 1/4 throttle.
I have no experience messing with the jets and setup.
How do you buy jets?By a piece or comes in a set?
How much smaller or larger size jet should I try?
For those symptoms which jet needs changed/if any/?
Any help appreciated!
Anybody around with the same bike to tell me what setup they run?
Or anybody who owned one in the past and remembers?
Bike has stock exhaust and fresh topend.

2nd the JD jet kit. I was always bad at jetting so I usually splurge and go with the JD jet kits. They are amazing and spot on. They run from 50 to 80 bucks if I remember right but worth it when you think about taking all the time guessing what works and pulling the carb off etc.....

Sorry for the late reply Smalls. Zamboni posted this a few weeks back. Great idea.

Put one on the big bike.

Where did you all ride from? Looks like a blast!

Went out for a ride but couldn't find any fun gravel/dirt roads. Lots of good backroads. First longer ride on my KLR and I love it!

Yesterday was a great time with some good riders. The whole pace of the day was perfect. Weather turned out to be a good way to start off the new riding season.

Mud, yep Bones says it right "Butt Puckering" . as usual I was very disappointed at Interlake. Do they ever do any trial maintenance. From the looks of it they spent all their money on a gatehouse that looks better than most peoples houses.

Some people try to turn back their odometers.
Not me! I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
