What's the current ruling on switching bikes mid-tag? I seem to recall that it was ok as long as the two bikes were owned by the same person. What say?

Does anyone recall if I ever used the Fayette Co. courthouse photo several years ago. For the life of me i can't remember and the sucky search engine on the site...well...sucks.

Has anyone seen this one before?

Cheers,

Love those old county courthouses. I dont think that one has been done before.

As for switching bikes, it happens all time. Or at least I do it all the time. So long as it is your bike. Or maybe just so long as you rode it. I dont know. I used to care. Now I just ride.

In the early days of this thread, it had to be the same bike. Now, I don't know. My personal feeling is that it doesn't really matter as long as you rode to the tag.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'll go with that one for now, but if someone recognizes it as one that's been done before I'll swap it for another one on this side of the state. I'm thinking the rule about using the same bike through the Tag-found to Tag-post cycle was changed around 2009 or so, but don't emember excatly when. I've been absent long enough that I wasn't sure what the current policy is.

I made a pass through west Alabama a while back and used Tags in Franklin and Tuscaloosa counties for a while. I need to go back that way and collect some more. I grew up in Tuscaloosa so I know some good ones.

Let me get back to a real computer and I'll make the official Tag post.

Cheers,

New tag

Okay, here it is: the Fayette Co. courthouse. Please let me know if this is a duplicate.

Enjoy.

Not another Tag Game. Yea but its different.

This is an interesting Tag Game on Ducati Forum.
You Tag not by location but Theme of the Tag. Any brand of motorcycle can make a Tag.
It really helps you remember where interesting things are when you are out riding.

Interesting concept -- a concept-based tag-o-rama. Nice shot of folks riding through the mall, Cahoona.

Well, it's been an interesting week. I went back through a year's worth of ALTOR posts from April 2009 to August 2010 following my trip to the Fayette Co. courthouse to see if I'd used it as a tag before (doesn't seem like I did). That brought back memories including the Hamilton VOR Massacree, the debate over allowing different bikes in 'tag found' and subsequent 'tag posting' photos (it is allowed), the initial capture and holding of the tag in south Alabama (the Mural Wars) and other memorable stuff.

So inspired was I that the history lesson prompted a 400-mile loop around west Alabama yesterday to collect new tags on the current primary bike. New ones include such diverse topics as artillery, Roman mythology, a firetower, a celebrity's former house and a former private girls' school.

At the current pace it may be decades before I use them all, but it was a great day for a ride.

Cheers,

New Tag...

A different yellow VW beetle:

This shot contains all the clues needed to find the tag:

If nobody gets it right away I'll be more specific.

The VW doesnt show in Street View, but it's easy to find. Should be a piece o' cake for someone in Decatur.
