I am in an ordering mood tonight, I think I might pick up an XT225 headpipe to polish and throw on there. I'm getting new sprockets, chain, fork gaiters... :)
She's gonna love it.

Mufflers come up for sale quite often on the tw200 forum. You might check there.

Just read this entire thread over the last few days. Wow, tons of info! I recently bought a 1991 TW with 4000 miles for $900. It's ugly, but came with pro taper atv hi bars, tusk hand guards, a moose skid plate, and brand new street tires. I've already ordered dirt tires for it (stock rear, Shinko 244 up front) since this bike will spend a lot of time in the dirt. I also ordered new fork boots, bigger pegs, front and rear brake shoes, and a seat cover... And put in a new battery. Not sure what to do next... Maybe a new look? I'm not a big fan of krylon black...

Here she is...

You done good. Those tires are tolerable if you air em down(except mud). Or; you can probably sell em for enough to get the ones you want.

Thanks! Yes, dirt tires are already on the way here... Can't wait to hit the trails on this thing. The street tires ride nice, but this is a dirt bike... I have a nice SV650 for street riding!

Why on earth do they make you remove the whole stator cover in order to merely change the sprocket??? Sell more gaskets that way?

Yeah, I would dig a vstrom, but I got too good of a deal on the fz6 and it comes with a factory center stand. :-)

The countershaft has an oil passage in it running out to a bearing in the cover. It's a lot more risky to leave a setup like that unsealed.

They had to extend the countershaft/sprocket out in order to accommodate the wide rear tire and swingarm. The cases are used on several different bikes, and some of those don't require the longer shaft; or the end bearing. Do the two sprocket set-up(14/15 or 13/14) as seen on the TW forum. That way you won't need to change the sprocket until it wears out.
