al's restaurant, just a bit south of 142 on the west side of 25. $4.45 plus tip. the homemade bread was really good, but i could have used more cheese on the sandwich. so if you go for that, ask for two slices of cheese next time.

and the potato soup was awesome. nice and buttery, with some bacon in there.

perfect meal to warm up a little bit.

he said last saturday there was hundreds of bikes for the open house.

i would be interested in going ... only 20 minutes up the road from the cabin.

I'd be willing if the timing works out.

There was a thumb area thread that I remember lurking on. Had my intrest because I used to ride out that way. I tried a search but the only one that came up was yours. Although the area is flat and boring, the people are great. The roads are nice for the most part, and I found that one can own it on an early Sunday morning....Ahem...Wink, Wink.

My brother in law and I rode up to the MC Museum in August. It was pretty fun.

Here's a couple pics:

i think i would check the DNR website for the firearm deer season restrictions.

i think it is sun down till sun up and from 11am till 2pm. but that time is intended to get you from camp to your hunting spot. But i have been known to be wrong, or so my wife tells me.

bad news is ... looks like the cost of the permits are going to almost double for next year and quads will have to get a 3 year registration sticker kinda like boats do.
