I pretty much agree with the above, i too sold a 640 adventure before i bought the xtz600z it is abit heavy and the suspension is substandard, in fact i would go as far as saying the worst offroad handling bike ive ever rode, its as if yamaha have fitted the front which isn't up to the mark, anyone who says the front end if fine is just bumbling or doing fire roads, its allready spat me off riding in sarn helen, and i managed to smash my waterpump, it sounds like i really dont like the bike, i do like it but will be making modifications as soon as funds allow, its much less viby than my adventure and has a good tank range and will stay at 70 to 80 mph on the motorway np at all, its also underpowered for a 660, ive spent a fortune on mine pc5 dna stage 1,2,3 akro's and its much more responsive but you wont get big gains... if want bits and pieces for your xt600 try brtuning online they are cheaper, i had a stage 3 for £67 delivered, xt660 forums at the time were £100 allthough they have still droped the price abit after i pmed the site owner to tell him they were cheaper elsewhere, got me a lifetime ban though if your are going to order bits from him ring him direct for best price, you may get free delivery if your in the uk..

Thanks for your reply Fozzie!
Ok so apparently it's not all too stupid what I'm saying... Hm yes I tend to pick the Tenere because of the reliability but omg it does need work :( I can't understand they didn't put a bit more effort in it, for let's say 1000 euros extra they could have make it a lot more appealing. And I'm pretty sure we won't see a KTM 690 Adventure anywhere soon the next 2 years, so... |

My buddy drove his 92 xtz660 round a little enduro last summer.
I did it on my 03 xt600e. It can be done. Doesn't really make sence and all, but i think it was cool. |

Here's the other thread that has alot of info from the europe/UK guys & Gal (JMo)
that bought them back in 2007 the thread is 210 pages though..... alot of reading but alot of opinions & mods. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265147 As someone else stated here the www.xt660.com is probably the overall best site to read up on the tenere. cheers reg.

Roligt... en lulebo.
[quote=Molgan]If I had studs (and a garage, that I don't have atm..) I would have it all year around. Winter time is play time like crazy guy Niclas Granberg aka NORRLAND @ adv shows in this clip. It's filmed not far from here.
Hejsan, nice to see someone from luleå, i live in bergnäset. Anyway been looking at byeing the xt660z tenere, and heard a few complaints about power. what do you think? Im not looking to drive like a nutter, just to use it traveling around (grusbus)........ jaja.. tack, MVH wade. |

Sunny, no wind, -10 Celsius, perfect weather for a Sunday drive.

This is my Ténéré: mods so far are Renthals, Acerbis brushguards, TKC 80s, a remade seat (courtesy of Sellerie Concept - here in France), Metal Mule links, UFO front fender, and Touratech bashplate, rear rack and eTrex GPS mount. I've removed the exhaust covers as I don't like the look of them; I'm planning to make some round ones. Also want something to protect the water cooler before my planned (it will happen one day...) trip to Morocco. It's only across the water...

To keep this thread alive:
Studs + low fender was a bad idea, lost it at sea (my girlfriend tries to explain my stupidity): ![]() That Irish wolfhound makes the Tenere look small: ![]() Now, where did spring go? |
