Ya know this thread is just so cruel!!!
I so want one of these bikes, it's a shame that Yamaha doesn't see fit to bring them to the States. Keep the pics coming so I can keep the dream alive. Cya, jr |

@ pmsystem: defo one of the best looking tén i've seen. i bet you put a lot of time and effort in it! GJ on that =)
i've been considering painting the grey plastic crashguards as well, but since i'll be dropping my xt too many times, i'm afraid the paint will be ruined. :P

You are right, the plastics of the Tenere are very poor in quality, I mean the plastic itself. Very hard to paint doing by yourself with the exact yamaha colour (if you go to the coachmaker is easyer ;) But I did by myself :( ) Once painted, it is very very easy to scratch, specially in offroad. About my experience, I had to retouch it 2 times and, to be honest, the next time I'm gonna find an easier solution than painting.... I guess with vinyl cast or making the plastics in fiberglass (I already completed the sx side) that is much simple to paint . Im also making a sort of rear tanks in order to fill up the "hole" left by replacing the original exhaust with the mono one. Here some early pics: ![]() ![]()
