This thread makes me want to nut. I think the tenere is the best looking adventure bike I've seen. To quote Wayne:

Ya can't really compare these two bikes, they're completely different:
the Tenere is a thumper 660cc's, the KTM a v-twin 990cc's, both allroads, but in any other way not alike. And indeed the price difference!

mind i must say that ive just sold my tenere because i cant get on with the seat , and got myself dl650x v-strom to replace it

went to the dealer today and almost bought a dr650. i would hate it if yamaha or ktm makes and adventure single availabe in the u.s. right after i bought the suzuki.

iam 5,11 ,the seat does not let you move back but holds you forward their is a load of threads about it on xt660.com , plus its to tall for the wife to get on to the back of it, we looked in to lowering the bike etc in the end we got a bike we did not have mess with , i must say if it was just me useing the tenere it would still be in my garage plus if they make bigger engine model next year could be a 1200cc or a 900cc with abit of luck

Before start, newly washed and packed for me and my girlfriend:

Stop in the mountains with guests:

Camping:

Stop for coffe:

The bike worked without any problems, and fuelconsumption was about 0.42ltr pr 10km for the whole trip ( 1700km). Maybe I´ll post more later, I have a few videos from spectacular roads in the mountains. Total odometer this year is 6700 km (from april), best bike I ever owned!
