Short project tonite. Thanks for boosting me to do this. I started by putting masking tape just outside of the original logo to know just how perfect these recreations are.

Then to cheat a bit, I removed the original decals being as careful as possible not to stretch them which will distort their shape. Then overlayed the pieces that need to be trimmed at the contours. No matter how careful you are, you will stretch them!

I decided to slap each letter on individually. Glad I did cause if you can see, the premask overlaps about 1/8" in the center. I'll have them adjust this on their end, but installing one @ a time is still recommened because of the curve of the surface you are working on.

Premask removed. Pretty slick fit!

All said & done. Lights up nicely with the camera flash. I did a little tweak to the "F" also (actually black reflective) but I am not happy with it. Not enough italic slant to it. It was just a font I chose quickly with no manipulation done to it. Think I may keep the font but just do 2 more with more lean to em.

So many stickers, not enough space on the side of the fridge. It's better than slapping all these on the back of my truck! Recognize any of these?

I won't bore you guys with the photo I took of my beer bottle cap collection.

OKAY, I lied!

GS logo

Hey Tree,
Did you get what you needed? I'm an art director/designer and I could probably crank out what you need pretty quickly. The best files to use are vector based, not rasterized like jpegs or tiffs. So you need an Adobe Illustrator eps file. That way you can use it at any size and it will remain crisp.

Just PM or email me if you're still in need.

Very nice job!

You did a very nice job. I am going to paint my yellow bike...bright silver.
Will you have these available in reflective black?

Hmmm....

Once I get home from work tonight I'm going to measure out some spots on my 650 to see a good place to put them and what size I'd want (since I think there's a decent size difference in that side panel from me to you guys).

But get ready for another black order that reflects white!

You said those ones are how tall again? 3.5"? And so how wide? About 7'? Thanks...

Cheers on making good stuff happen!

3.5" x 10.25" The original cut was 10 3/8" but I had them slide the letters together 1/8" for a more exact to original fit (for the big GS logos). This would give you the ratio heigth/length (1:2.92) and from there you can get any heigth you want and figure what the length would be. For each inch tall it would be about 2.92" long. You could be more precise with the math but these figures should tell you what you need.

See how this started:

Old school, I rubbed an impression into paper from the bike's logo then traced it with an ink pen & sent it to my guy who transferred it to a digital image on his computer for cutting from vinyl.

Sorry if it offends anyone, but I did a Google search and this is what it came up with.

Mmmmm, smoked sausage. Fantastic in gumbos, on the grill, stuffed in chicken, in a jambalaya etc.

It's all how you look at it.

F'ing A, Louv! Now I got me a hankerin' for some Cajun cookin'! I just had to pay $$$$$ for surgery for the wife, but I'm still going to try and make it to Baton Rouge this summer.

Hey DiabloBlanco, let us know if this will work out on the 650! I eventually want to end up with a 650 Adventure, albeit with the lowered suspension due to being vertically challenged!

I do some hand-drawn reflective stuff for aircrew helmets as part of my Navy job, so I think I'll try to do this myself, first. What colors do you FFs think would look good on the silver-blue 650? I'm thinking black..

Rob
