We need to get on this today!

Our proposed off-highway motorcycle legislation is finally moving into the final stages.

Right now the proposed bill is being circulated seeking legislators to join in sponsoring the bill.

We need to contact our assemblyman and senators to ask them to be co-sponsors.

Ask them to co-sponsor LRB 0082/3 which is the proposed OHM legislation that Representative Mursau is offering.

If you do not know who your assemblyman or senator is, you can use this link to find out.
http://legis.wisconsin.gov/pages/waml.aspx

Please take action on this today and pass the word to other enthusiasts asking them to take action as well.

It is important that we do all we can to gain support for the proposed OHM legislation.

Wasted no time in doing this; would be nice to see more area opened to ohm travel. Even though I live in N WI, I find myself riding more in MI because of all the land closures and restrictions here. Hope for the best for all your hard work!

I plan to put out an easily digestible summary. Trying to sort through the LRB document can be kind of confusing. It is very similar to the current ATV legislation that is in place.

Please pass the word that it is very important for riders to contact their legislators to ask them to cosponsor this proposed legislation. It is pretty simple to send in an e-mail explaining why you want a sticker program similar to what ATVs have to build and sustain motorcycle trails.

We need to take action now as the closing date is the 23d.

Thanks to those that have been contacting their legislators. We need to keep after that up until the 23d (for this action). Best to do it now so legislators have time to look things over.

Don't get discouraged if someone tells you they won't cosponsor the bill. This doesn't mean they won't support it on the floor when it comes to a vote. Cosponsoring often has a lot to do with what committees the legislator is on or what the impact is to his or her local district. Not everyone signs on to every bill that comes along.

Nonetheless, they need to hear that we want them to support the OHM program so we need to make those contacts!

Cannonshot,
As a non-resident, how do I fit in? Does the bill include any provisions for non-resident registration? Is there anyone in particular I should contact?

It does. Not much for a non-resident to do on the cosponsorship except to encourage residents you know to contact their legislator.

Still a couple of days to make those calls to your legislators.
