Now there is a serious set of wheels.
Seems like people around here are trading up to some real nice stuff.

There is also a powerline to explore not to far from there. Old Almonte and Howie rd. If you head south on Howie it turns into a nice trail that leads to a powerline.
That is my backyard. I am at the very south end of Bearhill. I hit the pit and the unopened road allowance of Howie on my mountain bike quite a bit. It does get quite wet at times. Especially the powerline. :-) There is also a trail from the south end of Corkery to the power line.

Tires

Thoughts on where I can toss used motorcycle tires? Preferably a west end location.

Not exactly free - now you pay the $5 disposal fee when you buy the tire, not when you dispose of it. I've been able to drop mine off at Canadian Tire on Merivale, along with my used oil.

True...but we were getting ding on both ends for a while, but too many used tires were ending up on the side of the road so Ontario guv-ment subsidizes the drop off centers now.

Some bike shops continued to request payment to dispose of tires for a while but I found out quite early, when I bought snows for the car, that CTC charged on purchase but would accept any tires for disposal, even if they were not the kind of tires they sell.
