I'll guess vacum line has water in it,

water won't pass the injector, if water is still in the fuel rail as well.

I had the can on the bike when trying to idle, just removed it yesterday to get at the subframe bolt that sheared.

With the can removed it's almost as loud as the Two Brothers exhaust I bought for it that is now a fancy carbon fibre door stop.

@ Dan
No iddle, then the bike stalls, right? or does the bike stalls at a higher than normal rpm (around 1400rpm IIRC)
In the carb (well, not a carburetor, but I don't know how it's named in english), you have a bypass (use for iddle), easy to take apart(the part with an electric wire) and then clean
Being there, check if it receive power when contact is on or engine is on (don't know if it supposed to have electricity when engine running but at a higher rpm than iddle)
The gas filter ($80 at Max) is also the pressure regulator
I have a old one wich was working (except bike stalling from time to time, but not sure it was the guilty), I'll try to keep it with me this morning... send me an email if you come downtown to get it.
Lastpoint, without a good battery, this bike is not running correctly (and stall)

These engine a shut by an automatic system wich opens engine valve if rpm is lower than1400 (IIRC)
The goal was to help the starter to run the engine (valve being open)... the bad side being the engine will stalls no matter what you do ifyou are lower than this rpm

I go get the filter and go to work!

One at a time, I would unplug your O2 sensor (bottom of exhaust pipe, behind the bash plate) and try to idle... plug back in and then unplug the air sensor (in the snorkle) and try to idle. The bike should run without either of these attached, and computer will go into factory default mode. This will eliminate those two variables. (O2 sensor is $200+; air sensor is $30)

If you still have the airbox off, something else to do is to clean the injector .. just pulls right out of its little nest (sits in the there via a rubber o-ring). Let it soak for 24 hrs in H*nd* or Y*m*h* carb cleaner .. red, thick, nasty smelling shit. While you are at it, replacing the fuel regulator is useful, too. (It is more of a regulator - less of a filter, so it requires a certain pressure to keep fuel moving).

I was having idle problems on my 01 F (80K miles .. not drowning!) and went through this exercise recently. I had to replace both O2 and air sensors.... runs like a champ now.

Thanks guys, I was wondering if the o2 would have gotten messed up with the pipe being full of water for a couple of days.

Eric, I'm not sure if i can get downtown today but tomorrow for sure. I'll let you know.

We need to setup an official betting system. Everyone throws in $5 and declares what they think the issue will end up being, winner takes all (if more than one person picks the "winning" problem then the prize money gets split). Maybe Dan gets half the winnings to help fix his bike ? On second thought screw Dan lets all take a chance at proffiting from his misfortune
