Probably a V Strom rider.

It's right in your area. You might want to do the right thing and get it, and dispose of it properly before someone smashes the glass and makes a real mess of it.

This is where it is.

Anyone have any good suggestions for last minute cottage rentals in places where we might want to ride our DRs? Maybe Huntsville area? Our plan to go to Newfoundland this year has fallen apart; we can't be that far away in case of family emergency...

Any suggestions appreciated.

Good to see you are making the best of a less than ideal situation and your vacation time. We will miss you in Burin.

If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.

Hey Dave, we are missing Burin really badly... Nothing can take the place of the holiday we had planned but we're not going to let that issue ruin everything.

Good suggestion Ted. First couple of days will be around Barry's Bay, then we'll go where the sun's shining. Mattawa sounds interesting.

Yes please.

Switch to plan B.

F8 quit with electrical problems just outside Combermere so we're back home for the night and will take the DRs back to Barry's Bay tomorrow. CAA brought the bike home on a float.

Yeah, must be something I did in a previous life catching up to me.

At least we have good beer at home and Spectacle Lake Lodge didn't charge us for the missed reservation.

This evening:

Instead of a nice dinner at Spectacle Lake Lodge we have this:

It could be worse. It was a beautiful day, I had a great ride home, we have a lovely lunch in Northbrook at Addison's, nobody got hurt, no damage to the bikes....

We try again tomorrow with the trusty DRs!

eta: just as well we are home, we forgot to bring cat kibble to the kennel!

Apparently the stator on the F800GS is something which is failing at a higher than normal rate, and it looks like mine is one of them.
