You need to sell that unreliable KTM and buy this instead.

You have to admire the devotion that went into that toy. But really, for a Virago 535?

Looking to ride

Hi,

Not so much into the posting but a regular follower of a few threads. I'm in Ottawa and just picked up a wr250r to get off the big bile (Tenere) and try some trails. No idea where to ride? Anyone wiling to take along a noob(ish) off road rider for an outing? I might not be half bad on the wr, not horrible on true off road with the Tenere. I can only think of one way to find out.

It's still a bit too early to be doing trails. The ground's too soft and wet. Trails in Limerick and Larose are closed to motorized vehicles. Once they open, you'll have no trouble finding people to ride with.

You might want to check the Bytown Motorcycle Association for trail riding.

Anyone need a 17" rear tire? I still have a brand new Dunlop D606, size 130/90-17 ... leftover from my DR650. Never mounted.

$125 and I'll throw in a Metzeler heavy duty tube

So I've really got the urge to put a sidecar on the 1100. Drove one for about 10 minutes when a friend brought his to the bar. This was in the early 70's about midnight so it's not totally clear how it went but I'm still here so it can't have been that bad

Been wanting one ever since but never got around to it. The Dakar is gone and the big GS is sometimes too much for hydro lines and Limmerick Forest so maybe a new avenue to explore.

Might even get SWMBO into the thing

Oh yeah, I moved to Montreal so nice trail riding isn't around the corner like Ottawa has so I see more gravel and pavement in my future.

Plus the occasional Triumph, BSA, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and KTM but who's counting

Speaking of trail riding, maybe you could mail me the lever to replace the one I lent you on the trail then?

That Honda was the first bike I had. I paid 75 bucks for it and I think it was in the neighborhood of 50 cents to fill the tank.

It's been sitting at my front door for ages now. You don't come to Ottawa often to meet up so mail is no problem, PM me your address and it's gone.

Snapped the rear brake lever off the 690 today but that means I can replace it with something better Suggestions? I see Rally Raid, Adv Machine and clean speed all seem to sell the same product. Anyone know of anything in Canada?

Looking at this part: http://www.advmachines.com/product_p/cse-1016-0001.htm

Got out for a decent ride on the DRs today. 277 kms of Lanark County back roads and the K & P South of Lavant Station. K & P was almost completely dry, only one small water crossing.

Hey Mike, that's awesome... I had the best ride of the season (so far) today. felt incredible not freezing on the bikes.

We were also on the K & P but North. We also hit up California... great day! Except the instrument cluster died on my bike. bmw warranty time again!
