In Ottawa minus the bike :(
Sons Lacrosse tourney.
But I'll be reunited with my XR Monday at the cottage. As long as this crazy storm doesn't send us all to OZ.

Rejetting

So I'm going to rejet my XR650L and need some advice with the size jets to order. I know that it depends a lot of the times at what elevation one rides at for the size jets to put in.

So what I have done to the XR so far is the smog block off and removed the snorkel. I still have the stock exhaust on it and will keep it that way until next year.

I was thinking that I would get the size 60 pilot and the 160 main. Yes? No?

What say the collective Ottawa hive?

1994 dr650

Wondering if anyone has seen the 1994 Dr650 for sale on kijiji ottawa? Wondering what people's thoughts are on this bike. Aftermarket tank and carb - looks to be on decent shape and he's asking $1600. I am not super attached to getting the bike as I was looking for something smaller, but figured of it was a good price and good bike to get into the game? Anyway, appreciate any information. Thanks!

Don't bother. If you get a DR650, get a '96 and up. They're much better than the pre-96 versions.

Thanks. That is good to know. Just had a look at the specs, and yup, the pre 96s sure seem heavy!

Heavy and they have a chain driven counterbalancer while the 96 and up is gear driven so no doohickey type issues on the later one.

Plus the aftermarket situation for post '96 DRs is much better. Good luck finding anything for the pre '96.

Took a rip through Limerick forest. Lots of trees down across the trail. I spent almost as much time sawing logs as I did riding the bike. Lots of people out though and had a good solo ride.

Nope not my old one. Couple of buddies and I re-rode last years Calabogie Boogie DS route. Was a great day for a ride...got turned back by a couple of downed trees from the storm near the end.

What a weekend.

What a weekend! Lots of storm damage in Petawawa area. Spent the weekend cleaning up and removing trees around the neighbourhood. Lots of damaged roofs. Looks like a bomb blast in some neighbours back yards with multiple tree down on the houses. Hope everyone effected made out alright. No damage at my place, lost only one tree that I thought would have to come down anyway.

Could you tell me where exactly the downed trees are? I'm already sweeping this year's route and since much of it is the same I need to know what needs clearing.

Terry I'll send you a PM about what we rode...

This one was the show stoppper, we might have been able to bush whack around it but after walking ahead a little bit and seeing a lot more we turned back. We had move about four other downed trees to this one, and decided to go sit on a dock and drink beer instead.

Uni Filter Oil

Hi Guys.

Does anyone know where I can get Uni filter oil in the west end of Ottawa....without having to order it and wait? I have called most, if not all of the large shops, and they either don't stock it or they need to order it.

Thanks!
