I was working all week and will up that way a lot more frequently.

I did dine with you in spirit though......On the way home, I stopped by that Fish & Chip place in Napenee.

Wow, what service. I called Dualsportplus on Friday to ask about Heidenau K60 Scout tires for our DRs and lo and behold, this was waiting on our front porch when I got home today.

How about more details like all interstate, gas stops, carry extra fuel, how close to 1000 miles was it etc?

I did 1800km in a day once and think I need to get out for another one. Wasn't sure of the best route from here.

I was thinking about heading up 17 towards The Soo and back but gas is kind of far between at night.

Wow, that's a long day on any bike, let alone a DR650! Congratulations!

Not many open anytime Nice ride though.

There's the Trans Lab, it's not as bad but you get the idea.

Planning a 3 day bike ride in Quebec for the long weekend...pre riding next years Roaming Rally route...

Mostly gravel roads, no water....camping. pretty remote roads, should be a fun one. Suitable for bigger bikes.

PM me if your interested in coming

ZEC Quebec

Ran in to this today and not sure how I feel about it. ZECs being provincial (federal?) lands that are controlled harvest areas for fish and wildlife. Each Zec is controlled by a non-profit board of directors and must be self sufficient, therefore charges a fee to access and a fee to camp within the ZEC.

Interesting concept but when we cam across one today while out for a ride were told we'd have to pay $10 per bike to ride through or risk a $300 fine it all seemed a bit ...odd? Public land that isn't public

We turned around and found 200km of non ZEC trails to run.
So what are peoples thoughts on ZECs? I wouldn't question it if they were provincial parks and you could buy a season pass that covered you for all the parks/ZECs and perhaps if they control over access wasn't left to a few elected locals, seems a bit seedy.

hey folks.
true to the name of the thread, i too would like to link up with some local ottawa riders for the casual ride. admittedly, i've spent most of my forum time on another site. however, i'm now realizing how big the local community really is, and attempting to navigate those waters. i work shift work, and weekends aren't always best for me. i do what i can. i'll check back regularly on this thread, and keep my ear to the ground. i wasn't about to read through 400 some pages of previous threads. it's just indicative there's life out there. i'm off for a very early saturday morning ride to the west of the city with a couple of fellas. i'm fairly new to the city, 3 years, but this is my first season with my stallion back on the road. so all the local trails are new to me.

Cheers
