Greg I should use lower resolution pictures, the velcro is my Timex watch band. So I will answer the next question in advance. That is tape around the filter housing to prevent the filter from falling out. I received my LC4 filter and the part number for those interested is 58430089000. It is nothing more than a small piece diaper tape formed into a cylindrical shape to fit in a breather pipe. I think I will order a K&N breather vent if I can find a part number for it, or hell I may just leave it the way it is, seems to work fine.

I think that it is unnessary to join the line is a t formation, that just increases the chance of kinking line. Use a seperate breather on each tank and a 3" piece of line attached to it, and it tucks into side panel fine. When you remove the valve under the air box remove the bracket from it and re-attach back to airbox, this plugs the holes, now the one hole left has the line with the carb vent filter attached to it. It is a little smaller than the hole, so place a few wraps of electrical tape around it to increase the diameter, remember it does not have to be airtight, as you have probably done the Somner mod to the side. But it will keep out mud etc.

Anybody installed the Sommer airbox mod? Mine hasn't arrived yet. Does this offer enough protection against dirt/grit getting into the airbox?

The SAS system:

Looks like I need to move the radiator and oil reservoir to gain access to the forward cylinder head?

How do I get those clamps off the SAS hoses? They don't look like they were meant to come off.

What's up with the vent tubes on the inner side of each tank? Are those necessary, since I've got one-way vents installed at the top end?

I can see how working on the carbs could be a bitch. I have no experience with that and will just have the dealer tweak the carbs once I get all this done.

Sorry about the lengthy post. I just want to be sure I get this right the first time, 'cuz taking all the stuff off the bike to gain access is a pain in the ass.
