Love the configuration changes.

Thats the goal with my SR500: be able to have a cafe racer-dual sport-scrambler-tourer by changing a few key components.

One of my current race bikes (Redline frame 350 engine) and the C&J project next too it, it will be 412cc when complete.

My other Honda Cr250 getting once over from my little boy.

Both of which are being ridden or raced every week.

I rode my XL for about 150 ft today.

It was a blast.

I don't remember how much power the bike had when I used to ride it.

Can someone give me an idea of what a 175 should feel like? I know this is a hard thing to describe but mine feels a little low on power. I think it is just timing and carb adjustments.......

Not very much... I've got a 175 and while its torquey, there isnt much go. Not I think you'd be lucky to hit 60 on a 175, but I've heard people here say they could hit 80. My 350's will do 80 and they get there fairly fast, but with stock gearing, 80 mph is it.

Have finally gotten my '76 XL250 out of my garage and on to the road. Giving it a baptism of fire (dirt) in Northern Idaho. I have found, however, that my top speed is 50 mph on the tarvy getting to said dirt, and I need a bit of the choke pulled. Long story short, the PO buggered up the main jet to the point that it cannot be replaced and is out of position to function at its best. I also had set the needle up a notch to lean it out. Ran well for city driving at low speeds that way.

Rather than ramble on, I may just goose this thing up a bit with a Mikuni carb and different exhaust system. How fast should it be able to cruise without flogging it to death?

Pix of the excursions to follow soon. This thing is too much fun.

The '76 250 I just sold would hit 60 if you had it totally wrapped out, but it had a great big sprocket on the back. I think with stock gearing it could cruise at 60 and might get you to 75.

Off the top of my head I want to say 42... But I'll have to check for sure. Seems like the one on the bike was a 48, and it was HUGE.
